Green banana and coconut are my favorites. Love my new lectin free diet! I do not get tired of saying, “Thanks Doctor Gundry!”

@@TamThan4ever *Peel green bananas by cutting the peeling along it in two different sides. Then pull the peeling to the side with a knife. Boil them with salt until tender, and cut them in half inches or so sizes, put them aside, then in a skillet put 1/2 cup of olive oil, add onions, cook for a few minutes, add about 1/4 cup vinegar, add garlic, pepper salt, enough, bay leaves, olives (opcional), oregano or any spice you like. Wait a few minutes until you feel it is ready. Throw the content on top of the bananas. Wait for 1/2 an hour or so and eat them. They are delicious! You will want to keep eating and eating. Put the rest in the fridge. They last because they are pickled.*

We believe in just a 1/3 cup of Organic Blueberries as part of the morning smoothie, ( along with tsp of MCT, of course ) & no other fruits allowed for the day.

Dr Gundry, I prepare my own coconut milk home. A lot of coconut available in Brazil. I use part of the left over fibers to spread over my salad. After all, its fiber. Is that ok?

Resistant starch by definition Resist digestion therefore its bad for digestion. The more ripe a banana is the more digestible soluble fiber it has. Good gut bacteria is only fermentable by soluble fiber. The good bacteria feeds on the soluble fiber as it's breaking it down. So since gut bacteria is only fed by fiber being digested than obviously indigestible food doesn't feed anything. It will hurt your stomach and give you the squirts though. The idea that resistance starch acts as a soluble fiber is bs. Resistant starch is a complex carbohydrate which means it goes undigested in the small intestine(where all nutrition is absorbed) and acts as a insoluble fiber.

The whole point of fiber is it doesn’t get digested, that’s why it’s so gut friendly. Instead of getting digested and raising blood sugar like sugar in a ripe banana does, it stays in your gut to help with the digestion process and feed your good gut bacteria. When he says resistant starch doesn’t get digested, he means that although humans don’t digest it, your good gut bacteria can eat it. That’s why green bananas are healthier.

Resistant starch is digested by bacteria in the LARGE intestine, so you're incorrect. The reason it's resistant is because it makes it past the small intestine...to be used in the large intestine.
