I'm a big fan of acai bowls and smoothies and today I share the recipe I like to use and give some tips on how to make this amazing breakfast / dessert in just a few minutes at home.
Acai is a berry from South America and is full of healthy antioxidants. Blending them with other fruits into bowls and smoothies are a great way to start your day or fill a sweet craving while nourishing your body.

INGREDIENTS (PER SERVING):
BASE
2 frozen unsweetened acai puree package (I used Trader Joe's Unsweetened Acai, although Sambazon is the most popular brand)
1/2 banana
1/4 cup liquid (I used water, but you can use apple juice, coconut water, almond milk, soy milk, sky's the limit)
BASE ADDITIONS
1-2 tsp ground flax seed (I used organic Garden of Life Raw Organics brand)
1-2 tsp hemp seeds
TOPPINGS
remaining 1/2 banana (or more if you like)
strawberries
granola
goji berries
honey
OTHER TOPPINGS I ENJOY
blueberries
blackberries
raspberries
chia seed
You can almost pretty much add anything and it will still probably work!

This is a great all purpose blender for a reasonable price. It's a little bit loud at times but totally worth it. I've used friends' more expensive Vitamix blenders before and they are slightly quieter, but the presets on the Blendtec are game changing.
