Hey hey my haggis loving peeps! Haggis: YAY OR NAY? I don't even know if I am aware of any people who DID try haggis and still didn't enjoy it 🤨

Aye! 🤪 Every January I have to try "peeling" the turnips, I wrestle with it for ages and nearly lose a few fingers in the process but I get there in the end. 🤣 I'm off to your etsy store to check out your work, I love unique gift ideas to send to loved ones abroad. It helps that they're Scottish too 😄❤😁

I have loved haggis ever since I first tried it at a restaurant that I can't remember the name of close to Haymarket Station. A nice waiter at the restaurant also helped calm our nerves by explaining why the £20 notes we got from an ATM didn't look the way we expected them to look (I have since learned to love Scottish £). Great video as always and more things added to the itiniary.

Great video! I love haggis😊. While visiting Edinburgh last autumn, had my first-ever haggis at The Last Drop and became a fan (of haggis and The Last Drop)! Also managed to grab the last available table upstairs at the Auld Hundred pub on Rose St and had the Balmoral Chicken, which was quite nice. I’ll be coming over from the States again this autumn to run in the Dramathon up on Speyside. Definitely will spend time in both Edinburgh and Inverness.

Hi. I’m also from the states, Atlanta currently. I went to Edinburgh last April with my son …we also had lunch at Auld Hundred and enjoyed it a lot. Loved the coziness of the restaurant with tables close, tasty food and just a wonderful experience/memory of our trip. Good luck next autumn 🙋♀️💙🏴

Was at Makar's yesterday for lunch (a day trip to collect a lost suitcase from Waverley, same price as getting it couriered, and worth a 2hr train journey for a day in lovely Edinburgh). I was pleased to be found a table although I was on my own. I was expecting an exceptional haggis for £17, but in reality it was little different than the supermarket haggis I buy every Burns night, the neeps were under peppered, and the generous sauce was bland, tasted of nothing much. The worst was a very limited selection of whiskies, no Islay at all ! I so wish I'd gone to the Arcade Bar, my second choice by reviews, but thought it a bit too posh and expensive for a lone dining experience. Next time ...

Great vid as always, do love a bit of haggis. Just a thought, a video looking at the different supermarkets/delis from around the world (Asian, Polish, Italian etc) in Edinburgh might be good, not touristy I s'pose but might be useful for living here. HNY to you both too!

Paul!! I've been dreaming of making that video for ages as I am obsessed with international shops in Edinburgh. I am still trying to figure out how to frame it - I think that even from the perspective of saving money it's good to know where one might find special ingredients for less!

@@Kakibot @Kakibot's Edinburgh Adventures! Cool! I love them because it's like going on a mini vacation, the different sights, and smells and, yep, a lot cheaper for some of the ingredients and kitchen utensils too(the Chinese supermarkets particularly.) If you do make a video though, you have to include 'Valvona and Crolla', it's the law ;-)

We did the touristy thing and went to Deacon Brodie’s so no doubt overpaid but it was very good, the whisky sauce was terrific. Will keep these in mind for next time. I have to pass on the neeps though. Videos always look good but this one looked particularly clear & crisp, did you get a new camera?
@Kakibot
Жыл бұрын
Oooooh consider my new camera flattered! We've actually had this camera since summer, but it has taken us some time to familiarise ourselves with it - so maybe we are only reaching its full potential now! I really love it though, worth all the ad revenue savings 💸 Also, I don't know many people who will eat around the neeps! .D I always get sad when I feel like neeps are underrepresented in my meal x)
