I use the chocolate almond bark and the vanilla bark in my candy recipes all the time and I also like to use the melting wafers and yes I also like melt my chocolate in the microwave oven, and it turns out perfectly if you do it right and follow the instructions, so there's nothing wrong with melting chocolate in the microwave oven, because if it was they wouldn't have put it on the back of the package to give people instructions on the package telling people how to melt chocolate safely so it will not scratch or burn

This recipe seems easy enough. I think I would toast the almonds beforehand. Also, I might add just a little powdered sugar to stiffen the dough (to make it less sticky). Thankyou so much for this simple approach to a delicious treat!
