Thanks my man! There is a counter balance piece between the lead hip and trail shoulder. As lead hip works back and around a bit, that’s what makes room for side bend to take place through impact. Let me know if that makes sense!

I gotta admit - I've never been a fan of 'Muscle Memory', but the way this is presented - I did follow it - practiced with and without a club, stayed in those positions - and it appears to be helping 🙂
@tsgolf
Жыл бұрын
I agree, muscle memory doesn’t work. Connecting with a new movement pattern neurologically is what this is doing. I’d even recommend holding these feels for 5-10 seconds at a time so you have awareness of what you are actually trying to do! Hope this helps and thanks for the comment!

Make sure pelvis, core and chest get around the target, trail arm works full extended across the chest (arms stay relatively close together) and pressure is forward (pelvis in front of the chest)!

Trevor, This step-by-step process of improving impact position is gold!! My best swings often come from brief impact rehearsal. But what you provide here is much more specific on the key elements of hip bump, rotation, side bend, and spinal extension!!! When you go back to address and ready to start the backswing, what is your swing trigger? I have started using my right hip with a slight up/rotation movement to set my body in motion. I also have ~70% weight on my lead leg which helps achieve my best ball striking. Lastly, can you do an extension of this impact video? I often do not finish my swing in my view, so a step-by-step post impact of the follow-through to the finish would be greatly appreciated 😊
@tsgolf
Жыл бұрын
Love what you are saying as an initial start for you backswing moving trail side of the pelvis rotationally. That’ll help to create space for the arms to come down! I’ll definitely add to my list of vids to shoot a post impact explanation of what is the most functional from the spine, release patterns and where to finish! Thanks again for the comment and feedback! Much appreciated!

What would be a good drill for fomeone struggling with the transition, especialy the first move down. I feel like a big issue, at least in my case, is the transfer of CG/pressure. Never know how correctly to move that. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you 🙏

General question, I notice at coming through impact my arms are closer together there’s no gap however, during my practice swing, I create that gap is that from lack of internal rotation of my right shoulder?
@tsgolf
Жыл бұрын
Firstly, are you a RH or LH golfer? Secondly, I’d you are referring to the trail arm, if there is internal rotation from the trail shoulder, there will be a gap (which I wouldn’t recommend). Would surely like to see the arms more together from a support stand point! Hope this helps and let me know if you need anything or have any questions!

@@tsgolf thanks for the reply I’m right handed and I can see when doing the impact drill I have the gap and the club is in line with my right forearm. To get to that point it almost feels like I’m not doing anything with the club. When I start “swinging the club” is when it becomes an issue. I

I find myself bailing out. Is that from not having enough side bend?
@tsgolf
Жыл бұрын
It could be that for sure. Other things to check would be setup (making sure the rear is sticking to far out), how the lead hip works in transition (working back and around for stability) and the foot pressure in transition (ball of the foot and not straight back into the heel). Hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions!

Spine extension is baffling to me. With this drill you're implying that extension takes place at impact? If so, wouldn't this cause you to miss or top the ball? I'm very confused.
@tsgolf
Жыл бұрын
When you have trail side bend in play going through the shot with rotation, extension is the next piece of it that helps to maintain center. If you only have extension without side bend, you could likely miss the ball
