The relaxed forefinger to allow one to open up the face of the blade on the back RPB is a great tip. I hadn't thought about that. I will try it. With the forefinger wrapped around it, it does naturally close the angle more. It's a good tip. I still fell more comfortable blocking with TPB though. I find directionally aiming the block left or right with TPB similar to He ZhiWen does very easy. With RPB, it seems as though it always wants to block cross-court. The down the line block with RPB is harder than TPB in my opinion.

yeah i find that the supporting finger does very little, it's about the back fingers and the thumb. Interestingly if you've seen the wang hao instructional, he says that finger helps to generate more power, driving the racket i guess in a more closed way. I've never got this, but his grip is slightly different to mine. I also find RPB really difficult with medium to low throw angle rubbers. get much better control with the angle being more closed than shakhands bh.
