Love this, Dave! What a great roadmap and process for all levels of players. You always make it so clear and logical -- hard to do when this is pretty complicated stuff. Thank you!

This is so great, Dave! I think the most valuable activity from this is to literally transcribe what you are playing. My area of improvement is definitely aural, so being able to internalize your excellent examples will definitely help me. Level 3 is gonna be a B*T*H! LOL Thank you for sharing!

Again, another helpful step-by-step session! Thanks Dave! I've been playing this tune for a couple years, but most of my improv has been embellishing the melody and playing appropriate scales. I'm just beginning to really learn to play the chord changes.

Thanks again Rob! Between this videos and some of the ones in my improvisation playlist, you should be well on your way with it!

Can you upload a version where there's only the music playing for all three levels? I'm a non musician and I just want to listen to the music 😂

It gets a little confusing when the chart is for Eb instruments and he references C (concert).
@DavePollack

There are charts for all keys - I don't know what key you're playing, so concert is the best bet.

@@DavePollack Agreed; just usually you're referring to the same key as the printed material onscreen, so this one was a little confusing. When the onscreen chart is E-/G maj and you refer to Bb major it takes a moment to transpose!

Interesting but i didn't understand anything about key centers. Explanation would welcome.

It just means the key you're currently in. So if you have a 2-5-1 in G major, you're in the key (center) of G major for all 3 chords. This is just a way of simplifying the sounds instead of worrying about attacking each individual chord.
