Hello Mr Dutton, Thanks so much for posting your videos. Since I found your website yesterday, I have watched them all; some thrice. Your 1957 Lotus has spectacular performance with its Lotus 11 underpinnings. The neighbours probably thought RAF Oakley had reopened. I look forward to your next production.

Never mind the restoration, what amazed me was at 1:52 Ivan just dropped to his knees and stuck that sticker on.....now that's praiseworthy, good onya mate

Forget the steady hands, I don't think I could have got that bike rolling as quick as that and I'm a fairly fit 51!!!! (and I don't think I could have got it down the road as quick as that either) I've got so much respect for this man's knowledge and ability.

That's the best-designed moped I have ever seen, restored to better than the factory ever did, I'm guessing. Wow. What a treat!

Back around 1980, brother gave away his 1957 NSU Quickly moped. It was trashed within a week. I was so annoyed because I’d have happily bought it from him.

As a teenager in the 70s, these things were 'obviously' ridiculous, and once I'd got my Honda 125 Twin I never looked back. Now approaching 60, I see how mistaken I was...! Great build. Thanks.

LOL Same! My reason was a Suzuki DR 125. Don´t regret, mate, just get one of these old mopeds and restore it. I rebuilt a Peugeot 101 last year and now have a blast being "15" again with barely 25 mph. Never too old for that kind of fun. Cheers

Is that an old airfield site, part of your workshop looks like a hanger construction? That little Laverda could be the answer to city traffic congestion.

Hey Ivan, remember the Laverda Jota!! Six cylinder beast, from the 70s. Also the Benelli Sei (six) which I think it was loosely based on the Honda 400 four with two extra pots?

@Alfred Wedmore Laverda definitely is still a thing! I bought mine, new, in June '76 and I'm still riding it. 100+ MPH, on a two lane road, would be normal riding on a Triple.

I think if you saw it in person you wouldn't, the photo doesn't do it justice. The idea was for it to be usable. The thing wouldn't have lasted many more years had we just kept it in that condition sadly.
