Hey everyone! Here's the next episode of Three-For-All with 3 Nick Johnston Licks From 2019. Nick hit the scene about ten years ago and I've been following him and his music for the last 5-6 years. He's an exceptional player and is literally bursting with great music, tasteful phrases, cool licks, and unusual ideas.
This lesson features a number of wicked ideas from a guitar clinic Nick gave in the former Czech Republic last year and features some interesting fretboard moves, slick licks, and plenty of challenges. From finger-twisting chromatic legato lines and expressively bluesy bending to demanding sequenced arpeggios and a faux-Malmsteen Harmonic Minor lick - this lesson has something for everyone!
If you're not familiar with Nick's music I highly recommend seeking him out and giving his instrumental output a critical ear, as his musical output is truly unique and noticeably different than the pack, by commonly featuring a lush soundscape with plenty of interplay between the instruments (not to mention the piano). I became a fan instantly after hearing 2-3 songs from him, and you might find yourself locking onto his unique style and emotive playing once you have a chance to really check him out!
