Mark Jackson is easily a favorite basketball head of mine, and I believe he has some great qualities to be a leader and easily an NBA coach. Player's mostly love playing for him. Did he make some mistakes? Yes! But it was his first year and his potential spoke way louder than his mistakes. He deserves another chance. Guarantee he turns a team around. Crazy he wasn't allowed that chance.

It's always been the elephant in the room. But, the thing that I've always found funny is that the NBA never had any issues with Phil Jackson instituting Buddhist practices within the team cultures at both Chicago and LA Lakers. He had their entire team participating in such practices and he's referred to as the "Zen Master." He was also strong willed just like Mark and he wasn't particularly liked by the owners of said teams either. So, what's the real issue?? This question is rhetorical by the way. Let the reader understand.

It matters in ALL professions if you are liked or disliked by your colleagues and management. It doesn’t matter if you think it is right, or if you are better than the next guy. The person that gets along, and has comparable talent will be chosen most times over a “malcontent”. I’ve seen it firsthand, and been part of management that has made these types of decisions. All the self righteous feelings one may have won’t mean a thing when it comes time for job assessment. Life ain’t fair, people have feelings (men and women) and management and employees have cliques. If you are going one way and everyone else is going another, they will get you out of there. Everyone that has worked anywhere knows this is the case, like it or not. Organization picking the coach's assistants is a new thing relatively, most of the great coaches in nba history didnt let the front office pick their assistants. Phil Jackson, Larry Brown and Pat Riley didnt let the owners pick their staff. Owners and management just picked the head coach. The head coach is the person who is supposed to hire the staff. Do you see Robert Kraft telling Bill Belichick who to hire? I dont think so! People need to stop acting like it was "out of line" for Mark Jackson to wanna pick his own assistants. All the Organization is doing when they wanna pick ur assistant coaches is hiring ur future replacement. Coaches dont all have the same philosophy and when u bring in assistants who have differences in philosophy theyre gonna butt heads.

The NBA is the most liberal and 'woke' professional sport on the planet. Mark has been 'blackballed' because of his unapologetic Christian beliefs. All the 'smoke' surrounding him has proven to be rumors with no factual evidence produced about him being homophobic. Yes, as a minister, preacher, teacher of the Bible, and a Christian, he would obviously be opposed to supporting the LGBTQ's agenda but that doesn't mean he is homophobic. Mark lived out his Christian values and that naturally rubbed the 'woke' NBA folks the wrong way. If he was any other religion, they would embrace his personal beliefs and accept him as one of their own, but because he dared to mention the name JESUS, he became a religious zealot who had to go. There is a whole political party who spends half of their time proclaiming LGBT to be the devil so I don't think that's it. At the end of the day if the owner doesn't like you then it's a wrap in any job you do. It sucks, but it is what it is. Even Phil Jackson found himself out of a coaching job a few times because he pissed off Reinsdorf/Krause.

Back in the early 90's when Mark Jackson was with the pacers, He and his wife would come to A.F. ADDERLY high school(Nassau Bahamas) to not only watch the summer leagues games there, BUT he ALSO COACHED a couple of the summr teams in Nassau while there. I should know cause I the highlights on ZNS sports report The NBA also did exhibition games(mostly with the Miami heat) during the summer on paradise Island

Kudos to Pastir/Coach Mark Jackson, who chooses to represent Christ and his biblical convictions over the wicked morals of this culture and a passing away career in the NBA. His reward will be great in Heaven for standing for truth! It is well worth it all!Thank God that Mark refuses to back down for a fleeting career in the NBA. 👏👏👏👏👏

Sorry but there are some things that I don't agree with him not being a coach not only in the NBA but a coach even in the NCAA. He could be a major impact on any level and would definitely become a figure of leading young men especially in college. However, it's his decision IF he wants to be a head coach. We all have to persevere with some challenges that are placed in front of us. He did an OUTSTANDING job with the Warriors and I will say that GSW first championship was HIS doing. NOW, with all these college jobs being literally handed to some former NBA players that are really not working, M. Jackson would be a great guy that could lead college players and bring in other coaches (both young and old) that are just as hungry as he is. Also, cannot push RELIGION on people. that is your thing so allow players to go but not be forced. Now i heard you said that the owner said for Mark to not hire friends? SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEET....They ALL HIRE FRIENDS in the NBA, NCAA, NAIA, 9 to 5, and I can keep going. French Politics. I know for myself that if I want to be back in the coaching field, then I am going to apply on ALL levels. There's more than the NBA that need his service. But I guess that ESPN money at the time was more lucrative plus less stressful and also he has his church in LA so don't know if he even has the time. I know for sure that If applies for a college gig, he will be hired at a D1 program that will respect what he demands from his staff and his players and be back in the mix.

Fire Tom Thibs and hire MARK JACKSON 2. 3⃣ TEAM trade KNICKS get MIKAL BRIDGES, TREY MURPHY III and ROYCE O'NEAL NETS get ZION WILLIAMSON and RJ BARRETT PELICANS get JULIUS RANDLE and IMMANUEL QUICKLEY with two first rd picks. 3. Trade MITCHELL ROBINSON, Evan Fournier, Quinten Grimes with four 4⃣ 1st rd picks for JOEL EMBIID. Mark Jackson coach; Brunson, Hart, Bridges, Murphy, Embiid as the starters. Only gave up six 6⃣ first rd picks out of 🔟

Mark Jackson believes in the BIBLE. Specifically he doesn't support homosexuality and the Warriors higher up is a gay man, which ultimately led to his dismissal. If Mark becomes a coach, either he changed his beliefs, or an owner shares his mindset

This video is pure speculation! To even play like this information is relevant is absurb. It's a pathetic shame that Mark Jackson hasn't had another NBA Coaching opportunity with so many teams needing help molding their young point guards. He may have offended the LBGT community but who cares. They offend him with their choiced lifestyle and lies to justify it. Whaaa Whaaa, Give that man a coaching job and watch that team flourish!

He can do much more positive work outside the paganistic, unbelieving NBA. That's the real reason why they don't hire him. Mark is a man of God. And when you curse one of God's very own, you are making the bed for your own curse. (Genesis 12)

It boils down to Jackson's personality, combativeness, and power-hungry and divisive nature. I'm honestly not sure if he's a tiger who can change his stripes this late in his life, but the bball IQ and coaching ability is there. It's the soft-power issues that he needs to adjust & adapt to. I think the main reason he likes "his guys" (his assistant coaches and staff) was that they were loyal and kissed his butt. Whenever another strong personality butted heads with him, Jackson tended to divide the locker room in an attempt to oust that personality. It's not even a revelation that this might occur when he coached Golden State. In his one and only season with the Utah Jazz (when he was 37), he actively tried to undermine starting PG John Stockton and even got several other players on his side. Jackson wanted to be the starting PG for that team to play his more to fast-break style, and didn't particularly respect Stockton that much. His locker room divisiveness became so bad that coach Jerry Sloan seriously thought about quitting mid-season, and John Stockton decided to retire after the season ended. This is the personality that you get with Coach Mark Jackson, for better or worse. He presents himself as an affable personality on ESPN, but he is competitive, and his flavor of competitiveness is what you get when he's part of any team trying to win basketball. As a coach, he knows how to get the players as a faction on his side, which is how he gets his "player's coach" reputation. But NBA teams are organizations with lots of other moving parts and personnel besides players, and it requires balance to placate the right personalities to make the partnership a success. Jackson's personality doesn't seem to work with anyone other than those who respect him and aren't threatening to his position. That is why he doesn't get another serious head coaching chance, in spite of his obvious success.

Mark allegedly said "a penis grabber on his way to hell" wow 😲🤣🤣🤣. Mark should definitely be coaching in the NBA because he was extremely successful. But we all know why he's not, you can't upset the liberal powers that be.

I call BS! Jackson was a great motivator, but his idea of in- game coaching was to call endless isolation plays. He was unwilling to take input from his assistant coaches, going so far as to fire his best assistant because he was getting some of the credit for the team’s success. The final straw was his paranoia which resulted in his being unwilling to communicate with upper management. As for his broadcasting skills, I don’t know which was harder to listen to, him, or Jeff Van Gundy. I and my friends typically watched games they called with a thumb on the mute button.

I've always said that Mark Jackson is one of the best coaches in the NBA. Him setting on the side commentating is a travesty. What he did for the Golden State Wariors is the reason why they are one of the best teams in the NBA. When you are Black you have to stay on task. You have to play well with others. Steve Kerr just fell into what Mark Jackson built. Being Black you have to work harder than anybody. Mark you should be a coach period.

I get it, you should never impose your religious beliefs at the work place. Now years later, there's no one who will give this man a job. As we speak, we have Politicians who are imposing their religious beliefs on the country and want to abolish the Separation of Church and State. Just listen to what's being said by Speaker Mike Johnson, Congress members Lauren Boebert and Marjorie Taylor Greene. With that being said give him another chance and just stipulate that he must not impose his religion on others.

The fact that the Knicks, under literal all-time worst exec Steve Mills, were the only team to interview him goes to show, no, it was not his faith, it’s because he’s a power hungry megalomaniac who didn’t make adjustments when the team actually reached contention.
