Yes it is, but we have done it in less time before. I think the problem was setting off on a Friday afternoon but we were trying to make the most of Rob's shift pattern.

Hi again Jo & Rob. Another nice video would of liked to have seen a close up of the work paco had done. All looks pretty good although the price was a little steep,, however it is normal for English to be charged more than your Spanish neighbors. When you pointed out your rough location you seem to be a little north east of us. You arrived in the hottest July has had in the 5 yrs I have been here, such a hot summer. Again lovely video Tony and Katerina😮

Thanks for this. Yes it certainly was hot. Yes will try and include more close ups. We thought the price for the roof was ok, but the price for rendering the wall definitely seemed a bit steep.

Coming along nicely. To me personally the plastering seemed a bit pricey. But it's all good.

The wife and I stumbled upon your 1st video this afternoon, watched the 2nd, and now starting no 3. We admire your endeavour and we're looking forward to seeing more of your adventure. You are a lovely genuine couple. PS, can you show a plan of your buildings as we can't quite make out the layout of the property and what is yours and what isn't.

Thank you for this. That is a good idea. I will include that in episode 5 which will give me time to learn how to show it on the editing software.

Thanks for the video and very enjoyable little tour of your place. I can sense your excitement at things to come. Lovely to see. Have you ever thought about travelling down from Calais via Lyon and then onto Perpignan to get into Spain? Motorway (péage) all the way down through France and might be quicker? Also, I use a “telepeage badge” so that I can use the “drive through lanes” at the payment booths on the French motorways. Saves quite a lot of time queuing, paying etc at the booths.

As a builder of 20 years I’ve seen floors collapse. If you are in the room at the time you may not survive. About 3 tons of debris will come down on top of you..

You can get concrete floor paint in Spain, we are quite civilised nowadays! Lol also if you have no obstacles get one of those incredible roller stick things and a paint tray that we all use and you can do the floor like mopping it, just fill in the fiddly bits afterwards. I am getting a few red flags, but I will keep them to myself, as they may be unfounded. That sink is the old washing tub! You scrubbed your washing on the washboard at the side. Don't be surprised at odd things, maybe th water didn't end there originally. Also rural Spaniards store absolutely Everything , or did .The Original Recyclers. There is always a use for something., People forget that until about 1978 this country was trapped in a Franco timewarp. While they were cooking like sausages in the Costas, people were still ploughing with and using donkeys inland. I moved here much further inland than you are in 2005 and people Still had donkey carts and farmed in the old ways. it all seemed to change overnight. But the traditions and mindset didn't. That is what makes Inland Spain so special.

@shelaghmoore-h4f hi thanks for your comment. Yes, I just wanted to make sure I could get the exact colour I wanted. Oh brilliant that's really interesting that it was the washing tub 👍.

Roofing is quite cheap in Spain. 15cm Concrete i beams cost around €12 per metre, and are spaced every 70 cm, then covered with clay "bovadillas" at around €3 each, or 4 per metre, so you are looking at less than €30 per square metre for the substructure. The tejas or Roman tiles are €1 each and you need around 20 per square metre. It's not particular skilled, I did it after watching a few videos, and fairly safe as the roofs are so shallow. Concrete beams are far preferable to timber, stronger, termite proof and cheaper. If you use the curved clay insert-type bovadillas covered with a weak concrete mix the underside looks really attractive. BE SURE to pop down to the Ajuntamiento first to clear what you do and don't need planning permission for!!!

Little by little. Be careful with the sun in Spain. Protect your skin. Your skin phototype is quite sensitive. All year round, not just in summer.
