If you like a denser tofu, take the whole package of firm tofu, and throw it in the freezer. Next day, defrost and squeeze out the water. Then cook as usual.

Just made the sweet and spicy tofu about an hour ago, it was really delicious and I could really taste the sweetness of the maple syrup and the spiciness of the gochujang. 10/10. would eat for the rest of my life if I could.👍👍

I tried the sweet and spicy tofu and it’s really good! Swapped the ketchup with tomato paste and added more vinegar. I also added some chopped jalapeño because I like mine extra spicy.

I made the orange chicken and my whole family including my picky kiddos loved it. They couldn’t even tell it wasn’t crispy chicken tenders in the orange chicken. The sauce was awesome. It was just like the orange chicken I get from the local Chinese restaurant. Thanks for these gems. I’m new to tofu and the vegan lifestyle but after awakening my body won’t tolerate animal products anymore. The tofu was so satisfying and no stomach pains and discomfort after eating. Meat has started to make my stomach hurt severely after eating it. Like eating rocks, lol. Back again to let everyone know these recipes are a must. Tofu was crispy and delicious. Perfect recipes all around! Thanks. Cooking oragnge tofu again tonight and have been looking forward to it since the first time I cooked it! Thank you!

Just tried this and it’s sooo good! Thank you! I pan fried the tofu without coating it with any flour and it turned out great. Also, instead of adding sugar into the sauce, I just added another 1/2 tbsp of maple syrup. Instead of cornstarch for the sauce I used all purpose flour. I made the mistake of using TOO much grated ginger so be careful about that I forgot to measure. Another tip is I found out I prefer my veggies steamed and to the side so if you like your veggies raw/steamed not necessarily coated in ginger sauce just skip on cooking them in with the sauce. All in all great recipe thank you! I will be trying the other two some other day for sure.

Sesame ginger sauce: Water Soy sauce Sugar Toasted sesame seeds Sesame oil Cornstarch Stir fry: Grated ginger Bell pepper Onions Green beans...or whatever veggies you like Sauté the vegetables then add the ginger sauté them for 1 minute. Add the sauce then the tofu, cook until the sauce thickens

See, tofu skeptics? Tofu doesn't have to be bland if you cook it properly. And if you don't like the texture, try freezing it, or try a different firmness. (And admit it - the reason you hate tofu has less to do with its taste and texture and more to do with culture. Don't worry, eating tofu won't make you lose your man card. 😉)

To be honest I worry a bit about your not cooking the green beans in water for at least 10 minutes. Because green beans are toxic if not cooked long enough. Otherwise I love the food you cook and the way you present it. Lovely job!

I marinate my tofu and put in an air fryer. I was searching for a sauce to eat with my tofu broccoli and crispy chickpea tabbouleh bowl. I stumbled upon your video. Your pictures looked delicious so I decided to view your video. I am glad I did. I made the sauce you used for Ginger Sesame Tofu. The sauce was delicious 😋 . I omitted the sesame seeds and ginger because I did not have them. I had all the other ingredients. It still worked well! I can’t wait to try the other sauces.

I skip the cornstarch alltogether. too much trouble. just straight up fry the tofu. still gets crispy

I have taken a look at TheFoodieTakesFlight's official website, and I have looked at the About section. By the way she uses the terms Ama and Guama, I would guess that she may be of Hokkien/Fujianese Chinese descent on both the mother's side and the father's side. But she grew up in the Philippines so she grew up with Southeast Asian and East Asian foods and culinary traditions. Though, we don't really know much about the grandfathers, and it's not like that really matters. LOL We just know that this KZitemr may be of Hokkien descent fully or partially.

You can possibly skip the gochujang and any other hot sauce. Though if you'd like a bit of spice I recommend some barbecue sauce :)

I tried the last recipe out with minor changes and I have to be honest it was horrendous. My advice to anyone making would be don't use just any light soy or ketchup of your choice try to get the exact same ingredients as her because not everything tastes as nice. I did replace maple syrup with normal sugar too perhaps don't do that. I replaced the white vinegar with rice vinegar too. All in all I think she probably makes really nice stuff but things go wrong when you try and get similar ingredients but not the exact same...Gochujang was a bit overpowering though I would rather put a teaspoon of that, I feel nausseated from the gochujang...

I think you tried to replace too many things at once and that’s why it didn’t really work. You might find it easier to follow recipes exactly the first time you make the dish, then when you make it again you can adjust it to what you think will be nice.

@@jono774 I understand what you're saying but I only changed 2 things and she mentioned herself that maple syrup can be changed to some other sweetener. I think the brand of things rather makes a difference. Plus I don't know if when she says a tablespoon gochujang it's an actual tablespoon like in european countries that's 15ml to be precise. Gochujang was super overpowering and even if i got the exact same brands of things that she used, I would not put a tablespoon personally. Teaspoon (5ml) max...

You can skip the coating for the tofu but I'm afraid for the glazes/sauces you need to use some form of starch. Potato starch works great too!

Make sure to pat dry the tofu with paper towels to remove the moisture so the cornstarch will stick to the tofu.

I tried making tofu lettuce wraps.. same ingredients as I used for turkey when I ate meat and it was awful.. I'm trying to be vegan again.. I hope this video will give me ideas which I'll like. BTW the few peices I made that were harder I could eat but most were soft.. and I used hard tofu to begin with.. I think it'll take time..
