Yes. Caiques are MESSY! Yes they can be very noisy. But their antics makes up for it. Only 1 is really clingy, 2 are semi clingy and the rest are happy if they can periodically check in with us. Like people the have different temperaments and personalities. ❤️

Unrelated but there is a great way to tell if a parrot is a male or female without a dna test! You take a key ring and tie it to the end of a string of dental floss and hang it over the parrots head. If the key ring moves back and forth, it’s a male and if it moves in a circular motion, it’s a female. It’s because of the parrot’s magnetic field :) It works on humans too so the parrot has to be a bit of a distance from the person while doing this so the key ring doesn’t pick up on the persons magnetic field and just picks up on the bird’s

‘Teils are awesome! They were my first birds and the ones that got me hooked on the bird life. They’re great if you want a very gentle bird or are intimidated by some of the larger parrots. They are more flighty and easily startled though. They don’t like to be hugged or squeezed, but they love head scritches. Theyre goofy and sweet. They’re a really nice balance between softbill birds and the traditional big-beaked parrot. They love being with you but are also capable of amusing themselves with toys in their cages. I definitely recommend getting two to keep each other company though.

My cockatiels are just about as needy as I can handle 😂. Velcro birds, they want to be physically attached to my person 80% of the time. It’s hard to get stuff done around the house. They’re very sweet though , so it’s a good balance. I actually really like the more independent Australian species, they’re more my style than conures, Amazons, macaws etc. I think bourkes should be on your list too, I recently got a couple they’re just the most charming little creatures in existence; I’m totally in love with them (don’t tell my ‘teils though!).

@@tomcoon9038 We have many breeders around the country. The "problem" with pionus parrots is that they are very sensitive for lung problems caused by mold. They can live with that for a long time but can die very fast in stressfull situations. That is the reason pionus parrots in my country are mostly kept by breeders in in/outdoor aviaries. By the way…..pionus parrots are very different when kept in pairs or groups, more active and noisy🙉 Green cheek conures are a perfect….much more robust choice👍🏻 Sorry for my english🤦🏻♂️🙂

I have a tame male and he’s not that loud at all. He’ll call now and then, but overall I consider him low-level. I think your issue is you have an untamed flock that is separated from each other, which would exacerbate the noise.
