It’s gonna sound weird maybe but I love seeing videos of good skaters failing or just not performing at their best, it I wanna say humanises them, shows me they aren’t perfect and that they fail most of the time too, and that tells me that just because I can’t land a trick 100% of the time doesn’t mean everyone can or that I SHOULD be able to

Videos like these are extremely important. With social media and KZitem taking over our lives, we now only experience highlight reels of the world around us. Watching someone's real experience of trying and failing, working towards something seemingly out of their possibility, and achieving their goal is often hidden from us. Failure is a part of life, and younger generations are growing up only ever seeing the end result. Mental health is seriously declining across the world, so I appreciate you showing the entire process and being up front about your failures. You're always very upfront about how much work is required to reach your goals!

Hey man. Don’t move on to tricks too earlier, you said you couldn’t even turn the board so just spend time cruising, it will be boring but it will be easier for you in the long run. Once you master riding around doing kickturns, pivots, riding off curbs, you can do ollies, one tip that i can give you is to only do ollies for 1-2 years, in the span of 2 years you will learn to ollie, ollie while riding, ollie over down up and over things. But that’s just my experience, still though doing ollies for a long time will make every trick easier, it only took me a month to get pop shuvs down, a few weeks to be able to 180 consistently, a few weeks to land a kickflip and several more weeks to get them mastered on flatground, hope this helped.

@@angelorocaverte2618 Yes, I think thats the best advice. I started skating 2 and a half months ago. I been skating a lot and progressing fast, in my first month I landed my first ollies, pop shuvs, in month 2, I landed my first kickflips, but 0 consistently. Then I returned back to the basics and that was the best decision I made. I started working a lot on my ollies, fakie ollies, frontside 180, fakie frontside 180, and a lot of powerslides (thats not necessary but its cuz I love powerslide and its my fav trick hahah). After working on my ollies and frontsides, I just returned to the Kickflips and today I started landing kickflips consistently. Thats just my experience, what am trying to say is that you need to skate a lot, and work on your ollies and frontsides before u try kickflips, cuz these tricks help a lot. And one more thing, yea I got kickflips fast, but am horrible in other tricks like pop shuvs and manuals hahha, every person is different and can learn different tricks easily, dont compare ur progression with other progressions cuz everyone is different, and I been skating really really really hard this 2 month and a half hahaha. Dont give up and keep working on basics before u try kickflips, and I wish a lot of luck to you with kickflips, you will make it fr!!!!

@dame9187
2 жыл бұрын
So first off foot placement. When your about to Ollie make sure your foot is like a little bit above the middle of the board while your back foot is on the very back even sticking out a little. Pop is what matters the most. The foot slide it’s turning your foot and gliding up to the bolts. And make sure to also move your back foot up kind of like your just jumping on a ground. And then your gonna move your feet forward and land on the bolts not where you started the Ollie. I say watch some skateboarding videos of pros. Not the ones that are like “step by step on how to…” just like people skateboarding normally and then u watch how they jump up stuff and jump down stuff. Ollie-ing while moving can be scary but once you learn going down and up stuff should be no problem.

I tried to learn 4 years ago and some dude laughed at me because I was fat and told me that the board might break easily because of my weight, I gave up but still dreaming up until now. I lost weight now and have the guts on trying it again but I still have a deep fear of being made fun of because of trauma and the toxicity I've witnessed in the community.

I dont know if this will help. Accept reality completely. Doesnt matter how uncomfortable. Be ok with people having any opinion they want. I’ve given up like 2 times were i say i’m just gonna tak a small 3 day break and end up taking a 3 month one, bc it is sooooo frustrating when you cant land a trick and it is a HUGE toll on your mind
