I agree, I’m an intp and when making decisions I also consider how this will affect other people emotionally as a part of my rationality. In my eyes, the concept of being rational includes my personal ideas of ethics, reasonableness, quality, and reducing all harm to zero (or as close to it). that also includes not harming those I care about emotionally. I think it’s important that my framework for making decisions or carrying out decisions include emotional rationality as well. one of the only ways to do this is by observing, building a mental profile based in habits and patterns, and acting in response to that in the most rational way possible. it’s the only way that I can be a well rounded individual. I will say however, that emotional well being is one of the lower subsets of the “harm” category (with physical and mental being higher) but it’s still important nonetheless.

They maybe more adept to social norms but most certainly aren’t bound to them at least not in general Some are that must be statistically true but that’s not a rule. You could extent your argument to nearly everything since one has to adept eventually to something new or else which should equal conditioning on some level for example boxing or maths You get conditioned to respond quickly to attacks and attack yourself in boxing and get acquainted with vigorous logic in maths to construct arguments My point is: everything is conditioning to something if one has to adept to something but how you phrased it puts that in an unnecessary negative context. Social skills aren’t equal to the degree to which a person is bound or does adhere to societal norms. Social skills are maybe somewhat correlated to that in the sense that one must be able to follow the norms for the period of time they’re interacting with people but the type of conditioning you are talking about would be a type of conditioning that’s akin to a dog being trained to behave properly and do some tricks. You can't condition "yourself" that would be self delusion. When I say condition, that is referring to everything external to the illusion of self, the supposed "you." Ironically there is no logic in math, as math, like science and religion and politics and such are all made up concepts from human ego. They aren't real. You took what I said as a negative context. Nothing I said is positive or negative, it's just neutral. Our ego is what determines if something is positive or negative. As for the dog example, you say trained to behave properly which is in fact untrue, the human trains them to be proper IN THEIR way, not in a proper way for the dog, cause making a dog obedient and docile is breaking it's nature and molding it to fit your own egoic view of it. You changed it from it's natural state to a conditioned pet, sit, roll over, beg.....that's not "proper" in the dogs mind.

If I were an extreme introvert, I'd probably want a partner who was also an introvert and wouldn't be creating social situations because my personal battery couldn't take it. I like to watch Frank James, and he brought up that he thought the biggest MBTI divide was S vs. N. And after watching his reasoning for that, a lot of conflicts in my life popped into perspective and I agree with him completely on that. So for a fellow intuitive, especially an introverted intuitive, I'd suggest that looking for an intuitive partner will generally lead to less marital conflict. Though ISTPs are at least noted for seeing patterns in things and might be highly suitable , especially to an INTP. There's not going to be a hard and fast rule, though. Sometimes opposing strengths really works for a couple. As an INTP, I especially felt the rules being broken and half ass book part. This one time in High School, we had this English teacher that told us to go to the library to issue ourselves some books for the class. Well. I had already gotten some books before hand and already had them on me, yet my teacher told me that if I didn’t go down to the Library to grab ANOTHER book, she’d call the dean on me 💀 Well, I told her over and over again that I had books and legit had to shove it in her face to make her process that I HAD A BOOK. After that, she then told me that since I already have a book, She told me to go to the library and listen to the speech the librarian had prepared for my class (for the ones that needed books), and she said if I didn’t, I would be sent to the deans office for disobedience 💀 I said to her “Look, sending me to the library to get books that I DONT NEED is completely pointless and a waste of my energy, and class is already draining enough. And after realising that I already have a book, you *STILL* want to send me there? For what reason? The people that went down there is already coming back up meaning I’ve missed the thing entirely. Say if I did go down there, I’m wasting my energy just walking to the library for something I ALREADY have. And you are telling me to go to the library for a speech that wasn’t even meant for me in the first place? You are just wasting my time and the librarian’s time because she’s gotta recite a whole speech for 1 person who wasn’t even meant to be there and I’m wasting my energy going there and back. And by the time I’d come back, I’d miss *YOUR* lesson as well, so I’m literally letting you do your job to teach me” And I said this in a logical, (mostly) well mannered way and she still got the dean on me 💀 After that, I just kept thinking she was stupid. And this happened the next year with my new English teacher. We had a class of 30+ and only 1 teacher and a lot of these guys fell behind in work and others were delinquents. Well, my friends sat behind me and they asked me for help, and realising the teacher was going around the class helping other people before my friends, I thought I’d be nice and set them on the right track to do the work. Well. As soon as I started helping them, the teachers says “Oi (my name) stop distracting the class okay? That’s disrespectful” and me just being me, I took that as an insult and having a shitty day, I said “Okay, look, you are a teacher in a class with 30 and more students. Like 80% of this class need your help, and you haven’t even made through all of them yet. My friends NEED help and they can’t get it from you since you are going to others, and there isn’t much time until the period ends. I’m just helping them because you’ve already told me what to do and they haven’t got any idea yet. I’m just trying to help them and technically I’m helping you as well, so what are talking about saying “I’m distracting the class” mate I’m just tryna help the people you haven’t gotten to yet and you probably wouldn’t have gotten to them in the first place knowing how long until class ends, so stop nagging on me” And I got sent to the dean….AGAIN. I didn’t see how she couldn’t process my logic at the time but I can see it now.

("Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe." - Albert Einstein). 2. Authority and rules (and thus the system in general) should always be questioned. We can't just go around the world doing whatever other people/rules tell us to do without questioning whether these things are in alignment with what *we* want and/or should do. Always "have the courage to use your own reason" (- Immanuel Kant) and don't just mindlessly follow others - that's basically a one-way ticket into getting manipulated. 3. Yeah... this one is just... wow. I don't think I could even go about my life without an ideology/framework of how the world works. (infj here, though)

Perfectly bulit framework but constantly debating ? How about a framework that is always being remodeled, renovated and parts occasionally razed to the ground. And why half ass reading?! Real probing and questioning involves revising one's own worldview. INTP does not equal ego plus an assumption of being smarter than everyone else.... it means caring about things like truth or utility or what can be known even if one's self gets in the way. Anyone who claims they have a full understanding of the world isn't an INTP

Heres what I think, majority of the people around the world are capable of thinking, not sure if its delusion or arrogance that makes intps think they are the only ones capable of rational thinking. Many great minds around the world, scientists, engineers, inventors etc do not have Ti in their dominant functions but still perfectly capable of thinking, and building frameworks, its just that many of the time things are somewhat subjective, what you think is facts aren't actually facts. Just because you think the rules are stupid doesn't mean it does not serve a function, and if you do break them, be prepared to suffer the consequences. This whole clip comes off a little too, I'm (ie. INTP) is always right and you (all other types) are wrong.
@Golden-l4r

First off, INTP's don't think humans aren't capable of thinking rationally, we just assume most people out there don't think or understand things the same level as we do. I mean, are you capable of forming nearly "infinite" ideas by simply looking at something once? Are you capable of thirsting for knowledge to the point where you're willing to sacrifice your life to get your hands on that knowledge? Are you capable of thinking to the point where you're no longer aware that you're still thinking? Are you capable of spending every single moment of your life learning new things to the point where your mental health is about to collapse? These are things INTP's like myself go through on a daily basis, have you ever wondered what goes through within Albert Einstein's brain? Well, Einstein is also an INTP which is why INTP's are considered to possess the potential to become famous scientists. Even Sir Isaac Newton is an INTP and he's considered cold-hearted.

The rule thing is so relatable. I’ve been categorized as a problem, I think, for doing things the rational way instead of the “right” way. But when the “right way” is stupid I don’t see why anyone would expect/want me to do that. It’s not a disrespect for rules. It’s an acceptance that guidelines can’t account for all situations & human judgement still needs to be a part of the equation. Thats why the concept of “general rule of thumb” is a thing. Generally - we would do x, but if x is not suitable we should choose the best option for the circumstance. Why can’t people understand that?!

@@anubis-tp3js Being an INTP has its flaws you know. For instance, there are moments where I would want something but while I’m walking to that destination, I’d suddenly forget the main reason why I’m there and I’d turn back. Only to remember why I got there to begin with, this is a downside of consistently thinking to myself on a daily basis, NOT all INTP’s go through the same thing but I could relate to it when it was mentioned during the test. After analyzing my time management, I realized I’d spend atleast 3-5 hours of my leisure time thinking to myself. There are also moments where I’d ask myself too many questions and all of a sudden, I’d feel like ripping my head apart because my brain couldn’t handle too many information all at once, this is what most people call “analysis paralysis” which others won’t relate to. Some people out there usually fake being INTP’s because they aren’t sure whether they’re one or not or maybe just to gain attention.
