I plan to get back to making more frequent videos.. playing ones at well. I want to get on a once a week (at least schedule). I am doing so much writing at the moment, it'll take a bit to get there.. but I promise I will.

I am putting all my poker time into writing at the moment.. I will get back to playing at some point, though. And yes, those type of videos will be part of my video uploads.

What if you are an average rec. player playing at the local card club and over all you are a break even player ? Just wondering what your thoughts are on that. Just remember you are playing retires and guys that are good and play every morning..Some are better than others but still are there every morning..

H Jeff, thanks for the question. The principles of winning apply to any game. However, in a situation where you are playing the same guys over and over again you will have to develop an understanding of their games and tailor your play based on their weaknesses. I am not sure how good those guys are but I am guessing they are similar to most online micro-stakes regs. I think the ideas I give in this article (automaticpoker.com/strategy/how-to-beat-micro-stakes-poker/) might apply very well. Also, I suggest profiling our opponents and making targeted adjustments against them. I also wrote an article on that subject, automaticpoker.com/strategy/profiling-opponents/. Of course, you can come up with your own profiles specifically designed for the games you play in. I realize most of my content is geared towards online play. Even so, I have played hundreds of live pub poker games so I understand how those types of players operate as well. Feel free to ask specific questions and I'll help any way that I can. Good luck and I hope you are crushing those games soon.

Good reply and I thank you for that..I am wondering if some of these guys are not semi pros, one guy boosted that he makes on the average of 700 a week at this card room..This morning he walked with a 400 dollar profit. The guy that took his seat claims every time he sits down says he is all about the money. He took mine again...He also stated he just got back from Vegas and did not do well..Your thoughts ?

I am pretty sure that most real pros would not brag about or mention what they make. I am guessing this is 200NL? I have played in a few of these games and it tends to play like 2NL online often or 10NL at the best. I would actually recommend playing online (if you don't already) for a couple of months.. or until you are crushing the 50NL games on a site like Bovada/Ignition. Once you can do this, the live games will be like taking candy from a baby. Check out my poker tutorial automaticpoker.com/how-to-play-poker/basic-fundamentals/, master all of the concepts I include and you can beat just about every live game and softer sites like Bovada with no problem. By the way, I recommend Bovada because it is really soft and has high traffic. My review is at automaticpoker.com/ignition-poker-review/.

Hi and thanks for commenting. People make a lot of money playing online poker. It's a skill-based game that is extremely complex and typically takes years to become competent at.
