Hello guys. I always appreciate this educational video. I'll talk about my own experience. I have a 2017 Q60 low output, last time we put it on the dyno it got 450whp at 15.9 psi boost at 91 octane. So there is much more coming for my car. I made a lot of mistakes which they cost me $$$. First of all soon I bought the car I ordered a axel back from Infinity racing which was pretty and gave me good sound, no performance at all, I spend around $600 on it. My surprise was when I realized that I needed the rest of the pipes because I had a Z1 catless full down pipes 2.5", so were some restrictions on my pipes. The thing was that all axles are designed to fit your stock mid pipes position. So when I trying to get a middle and Y pipe for my car in order to keep my axle and save money I realized that I hadn't too many options to fit my axle and my options were very expensive just because when they make a full exhaust cat-back for you car they use their own path and the position of the joints is now different. So their pipes will not fit my axle and my axle will not fit other mid pipes than stock positions. So at the end I had to get Tanabe and spend around $1000 more because they are one of the only ones who make mid and Y pipe using the same position of your stock axle. Now, I have Tenabe Y and mid pipes with Infinity racing muffler and spend around $1,600 plus twice installation cost and don't have a full exhaust matched. I don't complain what I have now, unintentionally I made a super nice set up with good performance and exceptional sound, but the point is of I knew that at the beginning I was got a full exhaust system for less and get more benefits. About the filters is very true, I got stillen intakes and went back to stock with K&N just because my tuner recommended me, I sold my stillen, two months after those filters got dirty and so oiled, then issues were starting, so I bought a pair of intakes again. More $$$. So I'm 100% agreed on point 1 and 2 on my own experience. Good video bro.

Dry drop ins is the way to go. You’re right about the oil messing with the MAF, but based on dyno results, regarding the 3.7 specifically, I steer people away from intakes. They just aren’t worth the money. Speed Daddy-eBay seller-has dry drop ins that flow better than stock and look exactly like K&N filters with mesh reinforcement. They are $12 each! Woah

Why would you steer people away from intakes on the n/a G’s? 🤔 all the long tube intakes have proven results of solid gains even before a tune.
@SpeedCultureStudios
5 жыл бұрын
@@_KeepItG I'm talking Q50s. I'm not as familiar with results for Gs. However, with the Qs, there have been a number of people with idle and running issues after installing the intakes, but my main point is that even after a dyno tune, results are in the low single digit gains--if any at all--over simple drop in filters. So if I can spend $100 or less on drop ins and get the same results as the guy spending $500 on intakes, its a no-brainer.
