I started with a Flair Classic paired with a Comandante grinder. It is quite a lot of work and there is a steep learning curve it is your first espresso machine, but it is also sooooo rewarding to get it right for the first time. Since I got a semi-automatic (a Barista Express) I just can't look back, just because of all the time and effort it saves me. Still looking forward to upgrade in the future, although superautomatic machines are not an option for me.

After 7 years of using pump machines (Quickmill Orione and Quickmill Carola), I now have a Flair Pro 2. It makes better espresso than my Carola! And I just love the process of pressing down the lever and being able to freely modulate the pressure. There's just something magical about using the flair. Yes, it's not a particularly quick workflow. But an enjoyable one.
