We don't get the second method. You dip it in black paint? Straight black paint or black paint mixed with water? That black didn't look that black when you brushed it on. Thanks.

You you straight black paint. I usually let my white paint dry first, then dip my brush into the black paint and take most of the excess paint off the brush with a nearby Kraft paper and then dry paint it. In her case I still would do the same with the black paint. Because her method with white paint still wet it’s less chance of putting on too much black, because it mixes with the white to make a greyish weathered distressed look.

Great video, thank you! I love the sanding method and had a couple questions for you. Have you ever tried it with a base and top coat of stain instead of paint? or one of each? Like stain base coat and paint top coat, or vice versa? I imagine it probably creates a different effect. Thanks!

I knew several methods for aging wood/paint, but wanted to make the entire sign (lettering and all) look old. The sanding method is just what I was looking for, and I'm a little embarrassed I didn't think of it myself. Thank you for posting!

This is gonna sound rediculous but I do this to ice lolly sticks 🤣 I do little fairy doors, door signs or wall hangings. The second or third method works best as I'd need to use a nail file to sand on such a small scale. These are comparisons thank you ☺️
