How to tell the difference between epoxy resins on the market? Is there a difference between table top, jewelry, marine, etc? Or are they all the same supposedly?

What about using epoxy to prevent a problem? I have a floating shelf project I'm doing. The boards are at 20% on the moisture meter. I have a feeling that the ends will crack. I'm thinking epoxy on the ends to try and lock them together. What is your opinion?

That quite possibly could work. I would give it a go if it were me

hey bud, i am looking to do an epoxy coat on an oak slab for my bathroom using totalboat epoxy resin. is is possible to coat the slab in danish oil, letting it dry and then doing the resin, or would you suggest just leaving it? cheera.
@AGlimpseInside
4 жыл бұрын
The danish oil once fully cured should not be a problem for the epoxy. I know I’ve done the same thing with a wipe on poly urethane. And it worked fine

@2:58 I couldn't agree more Chris! I like to sit at my laptop for an hour or two every day, to get some inspiration as to what to make (BADLY sometimes lol) when I get off my arse and go out to my garage workshop. Small channels sometimes have really interestingly niche stuff that newbies can attempt, that the larger more better known guys do. So for that reason alone it's worth the effort looking for them. Thanks for sharing. Peace out from rainy Ireland!

So glad you agree Derek! That’s a good point about them trying things that are a little avant-garde from the rest of the big guys. I really hope it doesn’t rain too much there you know LOL. Thanks for reaching out brother take care

Great video and information. Do you have to worry about bubbles and using a hair dryer or heat gun to burst bubbles? Thx.
@AGlimpseInside
4 жыл бұрын
If you mix too fast you incorporate more bubbles. The slower you mix the fewer the bubbles. But yes a hair dryer or a heat gun or even a blow torch will help mitigate that as the Apoxsee starts to cure

How long does it take for the resin to dry?
@AGlimpseInside
5 жыл бұрын
That varies on a few factors. The temperature of the resin the temperature of the ambient room. But typically I let it dry for about 4 to 5 hours if not overnight

some of these are good uses, others seem to be a expensive waste of epoxy just because you have it. its apparent that you did not pay for this and are just fishing for ways to use it. maybe talk about how to prepare it, ways to store it, ways to get the most out of your investment. what to not do, what to avoid, what mistakes you made that you dont want us to have to make.
@AGlimpseInside
5 жыл бұрын
I completely understand your angle here. I have explained how to use it in previous posts and videos, however the idea of learning from my mistakes is actually a pretty good premise for an upcoming video. So thank you for that.
