Good morning Christine. I have a new micans philodendron which I recieved mid Summer. I'm wondering if there's a particular time of year to propagate my girl. I want to give her pot a bushier look. Also, have you used fish emulsion to fertilize ? Much Thanks and I love your videos.

Hi Vanessa, usually spring/summer is the best time to propagate but if you have a propagation box, grow light, humidity box and heat mat, you will have success any time of the year. but with that said, i would try anyway even without a propagation box because plants are programed to survive. so maybe just avoid mid winter. Warmth helps with growth so don't put your cuttings on the window ledge even those it looks really pretty =). Yes, my plants love the fish emulsion from neptune's harvest and i love it too because i can give it to all my plants without worry because it is organic. I even give it to my succulents/cactus and they love it too, no deforming growths. I used miracle grow once on them and they grew a bit weird. 💚

When your single cuttings have rooted how deep do you put into soil? The whole stem? What if the leaf stem portion is covered a little? It's hard to make em stand up right without getting the leaf stem part in the soil is why I ask.

i would just cover the node, the stem could rot if its too wet but honestly, I don't think it matters that much from my experience.

Hi Sydney! If your plant is healthy it should take less then two weeks to see new root development!
