Here I am in Munich on my couch watching this team work and marveling at how you pulled it together. I was going to write another comment but Chris said it all. The miracle of social media. Martin is not a local, doesn't have a team of brothers and colleagues and cousins to pull together but somehow finds a few guys staying in a hotel with a pool and bored. I had tears in my eyes listening to this story. I am in awe of your progress Martin.

Seeing you in your dream to be creating this chapter of your life with such dedication to yourself and your vision, empowered and utterly inspired me in my own life to take my own dream along with new self love and self regard to a higher level. The Italian Alps, you and your Van Gogh artistic photography and attire, the crew that helped you and their youthful vigor and hard work, all this came together for a true art piece, a masterpiece demonstrating the melding of creativity, nature, one’s personal vision and the magnificent scenery in your beloved Italian countryside. I just wanted to cry at the end. So many emotions. The beauty of nature in the begining, the order of the tools on workbench wall, the manpower and ingenuity to get the really heavy logs up close to the cabin, the way everyone worked together to put those beams in place, the closing camera shots and music. You are just a master at creating the most amazing vlogs that touch each one of us so deeply. Thank you so much. I have come to look forward to your weekly film posts, Martijn. Firstly, the quality of your film-making - thank you for taking the time & caring about the quality of the most important things. Secondly, content, and what your content seems to represent: the freedom and relative simplicity of living the off-grid dream, the beauty and seasonality of your mountain location, the mindfulness and ingenuity in overcoming each practical challenge, being so close to nature in all its rawness and unpredictability, and insights into the community of local people doing likewise & ;ulling together when needed. Thirdly, your resourcefulness in tapping into communities of young, strong and willing folk who want to enjoy the location, a new challenge, and help you oug - in exchange for some learning, a good meal and camaraderie. Finally, thank you for quiet and sensitive film-making and narrative - its such a relief to not be saturated with unwelcome sound on U-tube, and I very much appreciate the natural sounds of your lifestyle, and the minimal narrative you add just to make sense of it all. What a treat!

loved, loved, loved the rain! i bet it smelled divine. hmmmm...watermelon. yum. the local farmer and his tractor was awesome. everybody needs a friend like that. i loved that you filmed your frustration - making you very human. do you hear cow bells all day long? oh, you just said the farmer asked you to have them graze on your land, so makes sense why you can hear them so much in this video. it was sad to see the old joists removed. I know you spoke of removing those so everything would be flat and even. just for the person in me that loves original stuff. And sooo cool about the guys that came to help - the power and beauty of social media =)
