Awesome stuff. You accomplish more in 30 secs than I could in a lifetime.

Saw the 30sec art but 13 minutes, thought it was a drawn out tutorial. Boy was I wrong. Going to get some charcoal and muck around. This makes me want to practice. Wish I had your talent.

We used to do this in life drawing with charcoal and butchers paper. 3 mins and model then changes position. Sweaty stuff, but the last couple of pieces were often genuinely surprising. I’ve kept a number of them and still ask myself did I really do these. Great exercise.

The urgency make the result very alive. But self-imposing a 30 seconds timeframe is close to be masochistic. Anyway, it's really good.

I am sure it will not change the spirit or the outcome of the exercise, but there are between 2 and 3 seconds between you set the timer and you actually start to draw. That is an unfair penalty.

Charcoal is such a misleading medium due to the fact it is easily smudged and easily blended naturally giving it a 3D look. What are your graphite pencil drawings like? Lets see.
