Game#8;
[ Point and Hit ]
Have them sit in pairs, a bit far from each other. Each team has a flashcard. The teacher asks a question, everyone answers, and points to that card, and the teacher (having a toy hammer) hits that card.
Q: where is the police car?
A: It’s over there. It is next to the police station.
Game#7
[ Catch me if you can ]
Variation#1
Stick the cards on the walls. Do some warm-up; when the music stops, the teacher calls out a word, and the students will run to that card, while the teacher will (pretends) to catch one of them. The teacher then asks a question related to that card.
Variation#2
Do some warm-up; when the music stops, the teacher will say; girls parrots flashcards, boys peacock.
Girls then ask a question from boys, while boys ask a question from girls.
In the end, you can say your name, and the kids will stick to you (fun)
Game#6
[Blindfold call]
Stick the cards on the walls, play music, or sing a song; when the music stops, kids randomly go to different cards, the teacher calls out any word (from those flashcards), and whoever is standing near that card will sit down. Continue with other students until one remains.
Game#5
[ A hungry Alligator]
Get some construction paper and make an alligator (staple them like mittens).
Hand over cards to the students. Each of them will ask you a question like; Do you like to fish? The hungry alligator will say, “ Yes, I do’’ and snap.
Small kids love this game, and it is an excellent fit for food lessons.
Game#4
[the sticky ball]
You can use sticky balls for any content. To make it more interesting, I place my picture and a tiger picture in the middle. This way, kids would love to take part in it.
If they hit a word, they need to say it. If they shoot teacher Muxi or tiger, they need to run back.
Game#3
[ Hide and Guess]
It’s a brilliant Game for young learners. Divide them into teams
Step#1.
Team 2 is holding flashcards, while kids from team 1 ( one by one ) ask a question from the opponent “ what is this” ( or whatever structure you are teaching, what do you have/want/see/like)
Step#2
Team 2 then hides the cards and asks (one by one ) the opponent, “ what is this?
Students from team#1 will guess and answer the question.
Now it’s the team1 turn to hold the cards and follow the same process.
Game#2
[ Spin and Touch]
Place the cards on the floor, and kids chant a sentence and spin around for a few turns. The teacher calls out a word and whoever touches the cards first is the winner.
Game#1;
[ Destroy the Bridge]
Place the flashcards in between the chairs. Ask a question from a student, and he will hit the card with a toy hammer.
This game seems simple but cool for very young learners. For big kids, you can blindfold the student.
You can also play this game with the parents if you blindfold them. Kids will guide, and they need to hit a card.
