So very sorry to heat that. The good lord calls them home too early. We lost keegan in 2018 and still talk to him when driving home from work each week. Never gets easier.

Awesome reviews! I have bought several things that you have recommended over the years and have not been disappointed. I have the Fenix headlamp that you have listed and you are so right, its a great headlamp! I'm going to order the ARS saw right now. I saw your recent buck on Comptons website a couple of days ago. Nice deer! Congrats! Thanks for all you do on here and you podcast channel.

Couldnt agree more on the LEM Grinder. All the LEM products I own are outstanding and will last my lifetime for sure. Was an easy investment considering processing fees are on the rise and quality seems to decline. Expensive investment up front but it paid for itself in one season processing 4 deer here in Kansas. I also have the #12. Field to freezer is my motto now a days, 100% under my control.

What would you recommend for first time hunter with a kid. Gear, clothing?

Put them in a sleeping bag when you get to the blind. That's what we did with our kids when they were little. Worked perfect.

For buckle covers just use a bike tire inner tube. Cheap and quiet

Tubes work but I wear thru them in about 10 sets. The yak grips are 100% by far the best thing you can use.

You should pick up an opnel knife get the carbone modle. The metal is spectacular keeps an edge for ever and it is small. Best is the price 20.00 Canadian

@@SamkoTradBow Its light weight holds an edge long enough to clean two deer and skin. Its not a self protection or survival knife but for cleaning game and being super light weight and a price you dont cry if it gets lost. For me its my number one choice for cleaning game but ya gotta get the carbone blade as anything else is garbage.

@@Captaraknospider yep agree the carbon blade is the best and easy to sharpen. Love high carbon knives

Thanks for the gear tips. The light from that headlamp is impressive, but I don't think I would want a lithium battery strapped to my head. It's rare, but defective ones can explode, and instantly burn hot enough to melt glass.

Been running cr123 headlamps for over 10 years also big 18650s too. Every once in a while someone on a forum says they can explode. Yet nobody in all these years have ever had it happen. I think it's very safe especially with the circuits in these lights. But if you are worried there are many amazin aa and aaa headlamps out there too.
