It’d be nice if you did a video like this for cam button, the different types , how to diy trim and clearance. This is so important and there’s not one good video on the process I’m asking for

Have seen many SBC, BBC & GMH balancers installed by the ol 'beat her on' method. Comments like "I've always done it that way!" when you question the reasoning. Interesting to see the degree of crank 'walk' at idle soon after.

Is it necessary to measure the inside diameter of the balancer to make sure it will fit on the crank. I recently watched a video where it didn’t match and it marred up the balancer where a machine shop had to repair it

Any tips for a 09 ford fusion SEL V6? The threaded hole in the crank shaft is smaller than any threads in the kit I rented? 1:05

That's a little different design from the tool I used to have, but similar. I did have a customer come in and the outer ring on his balancer had come off. The rubber was so old and hardened that when he whacked on it with a hammer, it was too much for the old balancer. Did you know that balancers, even used, are pretty expensive? Well, they were; they're probably unobtainium by now. Why? Because you need one.

Beating will tweek the crank and cause bearing binding, it can cook the crank.

Sooooo... I've got a question for you and since I cant message you directly, I'll ask you here which has nothing to do with balancers. I have a nice little 350 build with a static 9.98 to 1 compression and dynamic of 8.35 to 1 compression (.042" quench area and aluminum heads). Here in Tennessee, the average "premium" fuel is 91 octane which should work just fine with my combo at 35 - 36 degrees of total timing. Question is, how can I use 87 octane for normal cruising? Simply reduce total timing? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Jim

you an try it and see if you get any pinging with aluminum heads you should be able to run 87 I would back the timing off to 32 it will be fine
