I had a great desire for a personal projector since the age of 6yrs when we were shown movie on Saturday nights in our boarding schools by 16mm photophone projector. Later when I became teen I built my own 35mm projector without sound projecting 25 feet screen. Now have 42 feet screen projector...yes 42 feet... it's huge!!!

I just got into collecting 35mm film frames and strips for a light box piece of wall art for my college dorm, as I am a huge film lover and prop maker, and am getting a major in film and photography. I pretty much grew up in the all digital age of film projection, and so seeing some of mg favorite films that inspired me in hyper detailed plastic is very fantastical, it’s unreal. Seeing all of this in motion feels unreal to me, it’s incredible. I both completely 100% understand the shift to digital, but also feel like we could at least have a few more of these theaters around

you didnt mention the "Fail safe" at least thats what we called it. The weighted rollers on the sensor for lights and such. If the film broke they would drop and stop the projector. wow I haven't worked in a movie theater booth for 15 years. It was cool seeing the Christy platter the Auto wind for putting on and taking off the film from the platter. the build up table, the ...well all of it. I was the head projectionist for the UA Galaxy 10 (formally 9) in Dallas Tx. They didnt need a projectionist once the theater went digital, so I left I miss working at them now. Thanks for the walk down memory lane. Oh wow a 1600 watt bulb for that little screen WOW. Very nice.

A big congratulations on the opening of your home theater! I was never a projectionist but always loved the sound of film running through a projector. I just set up a 120" screen in my living room to show movies on a digital projector. It would be nice if I could run audio at the same time of film running through a projector every time I watch a movie! Enjoy your dream come true! Well done!

Awesome set up, would you have a wiring diagram for connecting the SDDS and DTS? DTS outputs at a higher level than the Sony accepts, just wondering how you resolved that? Cheers
