The best musical ever, and deserves every award it has won.

I just saw Les Miserables again in London last month; it was incredible! I first saw Les Mis in London in 1994.

Been lucky that I got to see both the original and new productions!! Les Miz is still my lifelong favorite score of all time. That music is such a tearjerker.

I miss the turntable and the original barricade

Agree. As much as I hate to say it the turntable not being there isn’t that bad but the barricade set it’s so bad now. You can clearly see the actors struggling to move around it because there’s less space to move and because of that there’s set ways they have to move which makes it look unnatural and far too staged.

Me too! Apparently it was expensive to run and kept malfunctioning but Hamilton has one? Gavroche's death and Javet inspecting the barricade during "The Sewers" instrumental whilst the stage revolved was a masterpiece of theatre.

I miss the original staging too and prefer the way John Napier's set and David Hersey's lighting interacted with each other seamlessly. As I watched from my seat in 2019 at the Queen's Theatre, it was heartbreaking to me knowing that I was seeing that beautiful masterpiece one final time. I wish the revolve was still "turning, turning, turning through the years."

As a Hongkonger who loves Les Miz so much, I got goosebumps and burst out into tears at 07:32 Meanwhile, I don't think it's possible to perform this musical (or to tell this story at all) in this new era of Hong Kong.
