I do a first time manual transmission conversion on a 2009 Nissan 370Z.
Part List:
JK40 Transmission (370Z Transmission)
- Try to get complete with shifter linkage and boots.
6MT Interior trim, shift knob, and outer boot.
-Junkyard or ebay to complete the OEM look.
New clutch assembly (your choice depending on power level)
-Flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, alignment tool.
6MT Pilot bushing
- You will need a removal tool to take out the original.
6MT Clutch pedal assembly
- Interior clutch bracket and pedal, master cylinder with hose and reservoir.
CMAK (slave cylinder alteration kit aka CSC delete)
-Z Speed is the preferred brand, but there are others available.
6MT Brake pedal assembly
-Alternatively, you can get just the pedal rubber cover and trim to fit.
New transmission mount
- Poly mounts are stronger but tend to not be as smooth as OEM
6MT Driveshaft
- OEM is carbon fiber and suitable for most builds.
6MT ECU/BCM/Key and harness
-Alternatively, a custom tune should be able to turn off codes for ECU and prevent limp mode. Still working on the easiest solution for this. For the Q50, ECUtek tune allowed the use of the factory ECU. I have heard of G/Z owners swapping harnesses and it working. If you use the 7AT wiring harness, the P/N switch will have to be wired into the clutch interlock switch and the reverse switch from the side of the 6MT will be wired into the TCM connector.
