I surveyed a lot of this route during the A2I works, really cool reminder to see how it used to look.

I saw a 37 on the far north line 2 days ago! Its was purring with a faint whistle sound in the station before it grew louder like a dragon breathing and then it growled away 😁 Weird to think that in this video they were a 30 year old design and i saw one 34 years after this video was filmed! Still in use in their 7th decade 🥹

Just incredible engineering at its best!!, when the UK had a steel industry , nothing has lasted since, just look at how long the 60’s lasted, barely any time at all

@@yesterdaystracks wish we still had a engineering and manufacturing base like before! Imagine what newer design may have been!! :) Probably not as good as the 37 mind you 😁

Such a shame modern trains don't sound the same.

People were complaining about 37’s on the Cumbrian Coast saying they were too loud, what’s more offensive to me is a sprinter screaming away from a station 🤣

@@yesterdaystracks That's what I used to go on the Cumbrian Coast for. It was great being in the first carriage going through Whitehaven tunnel with the windows open.
