I am just amazed how you continue to design cards and use an entire 6 x 6 paper pad - wish my mind worked like yours. Thank you

Thanks! Definitely helped by lots of practice. Not only in years and years of cardmaking but years of teaching where you have to be 'on' all the time. You learn to go with the flow and trust your gut because it has internalized your past experience. But with cardmaking fun is the main goal.

Hello Jess! I've been watching your paper pad videos for a few weeks now, and honestly, they are terrific. I really enjoy them! And they never fail to make me want to run to my supplies and start making cards... so they are definitely inspiring. I am especially blown away by how you just keep on going, and creating new designs even as the papers dwindle and you are left with scraps - it is a testament to your gift for this kind of crafting. You make me want to really push myself to do the same. Many thanks to you, as well, for telling us about the card donation opportunities! That alone has been a game-changer for me... I've been telling everyone about it, and gotten a few folks on board to start contributing. Yet another reason to arrange crafting sessions and do something we already love as a means of sharing love with others. All in all, you have been a blessing. ;)

Jess, I was particularly drawn to watching your creative process in this video. My personal preference is matted layers, but that being said, I liked the resulting cards you created. And you offered a wealth of tips that even those of us who have been making cards for a while can still appreciate and put to use👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I'm so glad you found it helpful. Mats can look so good but are so time consuming. Also I find I need to think more about the measurements since I'm not used to them. But I did do mats on my two other Christmas videos so you might enjoy those.

I appreciate your ideas. I am using the idea to keep out of the sun during our unusual heat wave. I would like to add that using gems in any card that goes to a nursing home is not a good idea. Having managed adult facilities, there can be some dementia orients that might try to eat them. Again, thanks for the great ideas.
@JessCrafts

Thank you Jane for bringing that to my attention. I will try to keep that in mind. I rarely use gems because I generally avoid plastic on my cards lately but this is another reason to pass on those supplies.

Thanks for this, I don't do alot of cardmaking, my first love is scrapbooking. Your video has opened my eyes to quick and easy ways to use up supplies left over from scrapping projects. Also loved the tip about adding dimension. I had never thought about the environmental impact of foam tape before.

I love your ideas for the papers with big designs that I look at and think won’t work for cards! 💙💙💙 Jokes? That is so cool! I haven’t heard of doing that and I bet that is fun for receivers. Do you snap photos before you bag them? If I plan then mix up the parts I’ll forget my plan. 😁 I just use trash too. 😂🤣😂

Enjoyed this video and learning your thought process. Really liked seeing how you used the paper that has one big scene. I always struggle with those whether it's on a 6x6 or 12x12. PS. I used your Halloween jokes for the cards I sent to nursing homes. Love it since I tend to struggle with what to write inside of the cards

I'm now a subscriber and LOVE your videos! I bought regular Kraft paper and a set of Kraft cards and envelopes. Thing is, they are small, I think 3 x 5. Have you thought of using these sets? I'm not sure I'm going to as it kind of takes away from the 'homemade' point of cardstock.
@JessCrafts

Thank you so much! Glad to have you as a subscriber! I haven't used any 3X5 cards. That seems like it might be quite small. Are they plain or do they have something printed on them?

Since they are plain I bet you could still make some cute cards from them. Maybe just using some small simpler patterns. I'm a big fan of A2 but it can be fun to mix it up.

I like A2 because you can cut two from 1 sheet of 8 1/2 by 11 cardstock with no scraps. Since that is the most common size of cardstock I can make my own card bases on the cheap with no waste.
