Looks like this mill was breeding for "rope noses". You can see one dog where the skin is starting to fold over the nose. These animals can barely breathe, worse even than the usual brachycephalic horror shows. People have got to stop with these extreme breeds. Overcrowding is bad enough, but it's painful for these animals just to live and anyone who adopts one is rolling the dice on potential years of surgery, medical care, and difficulty with things like injuries to the eyes, hot weather, and interactions with other dogs. Who can afford that? Who wants to watch their dog suffer? It's insanity.

Since people aren’t required to spay or neuter their pets, and they never will be I’ve completely given up on caring about things like this. You hear stories like this for years. Sometimes you really get involved, you donate, you volunteer, you even lobby to change laws to stop animal abuse. But then one day you realize that people will never require “animal lovers” to be fully responsible by spaying and neutering their pets, and anyone who wants to can breed them endlessly. Even currently responsible pet owners don’t have it done because “just in case” they might want puppies (who we don’t need to be honest), or simply because they think it’s mean. And since even so called animal lovers won’t do the one thing that stops unwanted pets from ending up in shelters, why should I keep feeling so bad when I see another story like this?

When finding a lost dog call to the owner if there is phone number in their collar. When there is no phone number in the dog's collar you can just wait with the dog by the road and most likely the frantic owner will soon run or drive by and find you. Leave your phone number and address to the local shelter so that if the dog's owner calls there they will know where to get their dog. It must be scary to dogs and cats to be taken by force to an unknown place and put in a cage.

I used to do puppy mill rescue. Even was allowed access to a amish puppy mill auction. Made contacts with some mill owners that would bring me their unwanted dogs, mostly males who had gotten to old for dealers to want. I did mostly Papillions. They are often different dogs. They were afraid to walk on grass or through a door. The only time they was handled was to grab them and put them in another cage to breed, or when given shots. It took quite some time to rehab them where they was comfortable with people. I am at my limit on dogs or i would love to have one.
