Showing the 3D modelling process of an antique khanda (double-edged Indian Sword) in Autodesk 3DS Max CAD software, rendered in Vray. Showing how we can accurately recreate 3D models for VR from minimal photographic reference.
The khanda is an Indian double-edged sword. Most fighting examples have considerable weight in their tip section for powerful cuts. They typically have reinforcing strips on either side of the blade near the base. In some cultures, the khanda is seen as a sign of worship, symbolizing wisdom cutting through ignorance. As such the khanda features widely in religious art, not only in India but through the Himalayas, China, and even Japan.
