This is exactly what having a 3D printer is all about. I've 3D printed an insert for my toilet-overflow: I've printed a shelf mounting bracket to replace a broken one: Just recently printed a dustcap for my car wheel as someone took a shine to my original one (IMHO the 3D printed one looks better than the original so I'm doing all 4 wheels :) ). I've printed the hardware for making guitar pickups and have several jobs pending. I started my 3D printer journey around the same time as you with a Geetech (clone?) from ebay (£150 - $180) and upgraded to a Prusa Mk3 and haven't looked back. I still use the Geetech for printing flexible filaments after printing many upgrades to make it a better printer (z-wobble etc.).
