Get a 3d scanner as well. I've got a motorcycle, and a 3d printer combined with a 3d scanner makes it a lot easier to replace missing pieces of body work from when a bike gets dropped. You can print a back to the part and then use plastifix to fill in the empty hole.

I would honestly say that if you are willing to tinker with an older Creality machine like you recommended Id look definitely look at buying a Prusa mk3s used as Prusa machines are well known for their reliability and longevity. If you have the money a new Prusa or Bambu machine is going to be so much nicer especially if you intend to use a 3D printer for lots of engineering/technical projects. I had a Creality K1 and it was not a great experience so I bought the Prusa MK4 and its been a night and day difference. You get what you pay for with these printers, plus the auto offset and calibration is so nice and I can spend more time doing my shop projects.
@Lechnology_Engineering

Hey Alex, Thank you for your printer insight! I definitely want to switch printers soon, it's been a good run. I definitely would like to save up for a Bambu but since they aren't open source its turning me away from it. I'll either wait for their new generation of printers to come out or see what printer Prusa responds with. Thanks again!
@Alex_M_Creations

@@Lechnology_Engineering absolutely! I myself run the Prusa MK4 and it’s been a solid machine. It’s more expensive but I expect it to last me a long time with general maintenance.
