As an exercise in product design and engineering, I decided to make a Spider-Man themed 3D printed water canon that was reverse engineered from a portable spray atomizer.
Having been inspired by KZitem channel 'The Amazing Spider Dude' and his video titled '10 Real Life Web-Shooters You Won't Believe', I wanted to make a functional prop that could blast a stream of water.

I first began by modeling the atomizer in Fusion 360 so that I could design the components accurately and to scale. The prop has a spring operated trigger, that when pulled, applies pressure to the bottle's own push button. The 3D printed model was then fixed to a strap so that it could be mounted on the wrist.

All the parts were 3D Printed in ABS, 100 micron layer height and glued together using epoxy. They were sprayed with grey filler primer and then coated in gloss black. I used a dry brushing technique to add some silver acrylic to the edges to try and create a metallic, battle-damaged look. The wrist strap itself was purchased online and is made out of a polyurethane rubber with a hook & loop sewn in.
Each web shooter requires two 3mm x 20mm tension springs, two M2 x 20mm - one M2 x 10mm and one M3 X 20mm socket head screws.
