You can use an ordinary circular timing belt turned inside out as a flexible gear.

You have to print the (FLEXGEAR) from PETG or NYLON.

Hi, did you make this, because technically this is not ok: the center axle runs centered not excentric, which means there can not be a wave, unless, the bearings just deform the inner round rack, thus creating the circular movement. This means it can't be used for long periods, and the lifetime will be short. The idea overall is very good. When he blocks the gear, all you hear are the bearings spinning around inside. conclusion: it can impossibly be precise. kzitem.info/news/bejne/jqJtrJapg4WlmJw : you see that it is the plastic deforming, causing the wobble effect.

@@JohanDegraeveAanscharius In harmonic drives the center axle does have to run centered and NOT excentric. And it is the made intentionally that the wave generator deforms the inner cup like ring.

You need one (1) 6807-2RS 35x47x7mm for the large bearing and six (6) 606ZZ 6x17x6mm for the small bearings.

nice can this design be used for a 3d printed EQ mount for a telescope ?
@rcpattaya230

I don't think so. First of all you would need a higher reduction, at least 1:100. Secondly I don't think it is accurate enough. But having said that, for just mounting a camera or a very light weight very fast telescope, it might work.

Hello, This is a fantastic project! I have it printing right now! One small problem is I could not find a Bill Of Materials for the Nuts, Bolts and Bearings on your website. Any help would be greatly appreciated but I think I can figure it out if not. Thanks Again!
