Looks cool, been looking at using my 3d printers to do stuff like this. Much of what you mentioned should be easy fixes I imagine. Adding cooling without drag has always been a bit of annoyance when building foam craft.

Nice build, moved everything and it balanced ... luck runs deep with you. Damn its been fun, even though some remains undone . Take care.

Hi Lee Great video and Great build on the EWW180, I don't have a 3D printer but after watching your series on your plane. I think every old FPV person has a runcam in that orange case. LOL but nice having them fixing it to except smaller cameras. I think this is a gorgeous kit, and would love to build one. I just can't wait until the Maiden flight. I definitely would like to see more airflow for the components, I just like using 1w vtx's, Thanks for sharing your 3D plane.

It's looking pretty good, Lee! 😃 I'm definitely looking forward to the maiden! About HD FPV, perhaps it would be nice if there was a way to mount it on the outside of the airplane. You know? This way you would have lots of airflow! And with the Walksnail system it wouldn't be that big... After all, it's just one board! Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

i'm just finishing a white wing, i tried printing it in LWPla but it fell apart, now I'm re printing in grey PLA, ive learned a lot form the project so far and much of it came from your videos so thank you, ive had a lot of success with 3D lab print, which build into beautiful flying models. ive also built plane print models which come a close second. The White wing is by comparison like a Russian Jet fighter, so i hope it fly's well because it goes together like S&*t

@@Painless360 We flew the WW yesterday, for the first time. Mine is an EDF version but aside from that its similar to yours. It was a short and successful (line of sight only) flight, we quickly realised that we need a lot of Sky and our 3/4 football pitch sized park was only big enough to fly figure 8s, I was able to to try angle mode for a few seconds but not being experienced with this i quickly got disorientated as the responsiveness dropped, i bought it down ok on its skid on the second attempt, My notes would be 1 it feels underpowered at launch but its not, it drops away from the launch but then lifts as it picks up speed, (like a glider) 2 it looks like you have to turn flat but its actually quite forgiving of higher angle turns. 3 the PLA version is heavy and you need to keep the speed up, so come in for landing low, keep below 5 feet for a while while you bleed the speed off and come in gently, as point 4 4 Its fragile, even a gentle landing on grass seemed to produce a crack in front of the front wheel block, if you can use the wheels and smooth ground, The only other thing that confuses me being a kid that started flying in the 90s is the bad/noisy Fpv signal on all my planes, is that normal?

I have one more note, for my next flight on grass i plan to re size the skid and print two, that we can use to guard the elevon servos linkages on landing.

@@oliverprout I am about to start printing a Whitewing with my boy. What LW-PLA did you try? Sounds like something lighter than PLA would be nice, but if it doesn't hold up...I guess you have to go with something that does. I have some fancy ColorFabb LW-PLA-HT and Qidi ASA-Aero. Haven't tried either of them yet. Would regular ASA be something to try, as it is lighter than PLA? High temp resistance does interest me as I am in TN - plenty hot and sunny to warp the Polymaker LW-PLA I've tried.

@@boomupengineering I did both, in the end i concluded white wing is not worth your time. unless you have a concrete runway to fly from, its woefully underpowered so needs a very long take off run hand launching has to be done in a downward glide and control inputs need to be considered, its weak, and flexes badly. Its is without a doubt the worst 3d printed design ive encountered, if you fly it twice you've done well.

So much cad went into this vehicle wow ! Wing connect ,maybe they wanted a sheer point in the design ? We all must of tipped a wing end in to ground on landing and the entire plane exploded (

Great overview. With those long wings, this should make for a good glider. Might be able to thermal soar in summer for longer flights. Surprised you couldn't modify the camera mount design for a custom print. Having access to the design of this component (or STL), would allow a few simple customizations. Noticing the one of the wing compartments has a nice twist lock and hold down bits, while the other uses screws. Interesting that both didn't have the twist lock for easy access. Nice to have those access covers. For example could custom design one to incorporate cooling for the VTX should it be needed. Should you find you need more air for cooling ESC, a soldering iron would allow creating a small hole on the motor pylon. Could enlarger later if need even more cooling.

If you have a little time, it is EZ to 3d print a adapter for the smaller camera to your large form factor camera mount. I will check if Thingiverse has one already if not I will add one for you. look for it under "lee's camera adapter"

I is but the position of the camera also need moving forwards as well as having a narrower width. Having the options available from Eclipson directly for those who buy the model is a better way to do it IMHO... Happy flying!

I must ask you once time more for help. My problem is that with inav51 and omnibusf4pro my esc's and motors burns. The reason is rate of pwm for motor that is in reality 401 Hz. Thearetically it is possible to change this frequency to 50Hz but in reality frequency rest 401 Hz. Change to 50 Hz is possible in CLI but this is not working. Error in INAV or something can be done ? The frequency for servos is correct and equal 50 Hz.Thanks for your help in advance.

@@Painless360 This is a plane. ESC , that last time burn is eMAX 30 A. Problem is, that changing frequency in CLI do not change nothing. I have always Motor_pwm_rate 401 Hz measured on scope. With no flignt controller (only receiver connected to esc) motor - esc work with 50 Hz with no problem. Thanks you for trying to help me. I must change frequency to 50 Hz, that theoretically in inav51 is possible in CLI command line.

Looks like a shelf queen to me as I've never understood the attraction of 3D printed wings. Why would I build a plane out of something that takes days to print & is more fragile than probably even balsa, tissue paper & dope? Best planes are those that can bounce - EPP or nothing in my opinion.
