Both the general workflow and some of the more specific details, like how you model your tires (those were on a different video -- the way you created the plane and made it tileable, and then deformed it into a circle) were really awesome and helpful.

@xXCrimsonWolfXx752

prince charles What people will tell you is that you NEED to model using quads. Although this is true, and by doing this you will have the most PERFECT model anyone could ever make, there are some situations where you just can't simply keep it quads. It is perfectly fine to have a few triangles lying around IF it doesn't ruin the underlying geometry that you are creating. Triangles are a thing for a reason in 3D programs, you can't make quads without triangles.
@rahulmarasini6277

another thing is if your model is not going to deform i.e animate you can make those parts in tris.
@nullcase404
6 жыл бұрын
if you do that on organic stuff you will make your animator suffer the most painful hell he will ever experience, as for objects and weapons, the quads should be done only if that especific part it's gonna be animated even so it doesn't represent a big deal in cars and objects

Despite models like this typically being more detailed than cars in Forza, the cars in Forza have to be made to manufacturer required specs while these models don't. I was one of the car modelers on a couple Forza iterations and MillerGo is a better automotive modeler than anyone at Turn10 studios, myself included. These guys do work that is Production (commercial, movie, print) quality while the models at Turn10 are merely game quality. There's a massive difference in skill level here.. guys like Miller, Tim Feher and Durian are on another level.
