i accidentally put my subdivision modifier to 0.01 and the program has been frozen for about 40 mins, i currently have 4 hours of unsaved work stuck in limbo, any way to save the project in this state?

Hi, well, unless you turned off the AutoSave feature, you can locate a copy in: Documents, 3ds Max xxxx, autoback folder

Bro,when I save the already saved file ,it not updating the existing file ,instead it always open up save as dialog ,even when I use short cut ctrl+s ,do u know what's the problem

Hi, just choose the same file type from the "Save As Type" dropdown list in the Save As dialog and keep the same name to override the original, or create a new name to save a new image file. The reason photoshop does this is that the original file format, like JPG, cannot hold custom layers, so if you open a JPG with the default layer called "Background", then you changed this layer to a custom one by double-clicking it, or if you added new layers on top of this "Background" layer, photoshop will open up this Save As dialog to allow you to save to a format, like PDS, or Tiff,... that can hold this custom layers structure.
