I bought that unit from you guys 2 years ago. Had to wait around 3 months till you got it in but it was worth it. I also got the work light that mounts on the front of the hood with it from you guys.

I battered my unit daily for 3 years until the ADF died on me, ive purchased a VC adf now which is great. Another small issue i had was the plastic frame that keeps the ADF in place shrunk with heat, so now it only clips on in two places. They are quite heavy but they are a fkn amazing helmet tbf 👍

I used one for quite some time in production mig welding, and the only problem I had was that the inner lens is not pressed tight against the ADF, and so after some time, very fine dust makes its way in between the inner lens and the actual ADF. I've never had to touch the ADF, I just blew on it, and it cleaned it up. Other than that, very good, never got flashed, pretty nice and clear. And for weld/grind/weld/grind cycles, the lift up lens beats the crap out of a grind mode button with which I seem to often flash myself with.

How heavy was it compared to a regular sugar scoop hood?

@@tobrydeleon9889 I've never used a sugar scoop hood, but did use something similar prior. Its definitely heavier, Maybe three times heavier or something like that. But for some reason it never really bothered me, I found it quite comfortable to wear all day on 10-12 hour shifts. No need to take it off, just lift the lens up, and the view is massive for grinding, fitting, etc. The wider view from the lens ( compared to a 2x4" lens ) meant the head did not have to move so much to view the weld.

I've been working with this helmet daily for about a year With spray transfer mig, in winter the air flow is best on the visor to stop fogging and it will make your face cold. In the summer it's great on face, to stay cool.

Wow can you see yourself wearing this your whole career? I'm thinking of being a welder if I can wear this for years. Don't mind getting a thick neck from this, stretching and staying healthy for sports. Lol

I do spray transfer with metalcore mig for production and was looking into to these to get away from the hot respirator I've been wearing for years, i was curious how heavy it is to wear?

Would you recommend this PAPR system over the T94i from Miller? I’m struggling to decide between the two.

They are both super nice! We stock them both. I would say the 3M is a bit higher-end/more durable.

Where does the air exit
@Mr.Thermistor7228

Through any space it can. It's not a sealed system, it's positive pressure meaning if there is constantly an air pressure pushing out then nothing can get into it regardless is the air is able to escape. Think of a bounce house, same concept there is constantly air being pushed into it

I have both and it's not better, it is different. The helix is a great helmet but it doesn't have a PAPR system and it isn't close to the G5-01 in durability. I only use the helix for tig work as it isn't made of materials as tough as the G5-01
