The Gladbrook Corn Carnival Parade kicked off the THIRD YEAR of parade seasons for our made-to-scale representation of current Tama County Iowa Wind Ordinances. Who knew this little float would hold up so well?! (Who knew that we'd still be fighting to get the same ordinance updated for this long...)
As a reminder, the current Tama County Wind Energy Conversion System ordinance has setbacks listed at 1000 feet OR 2-times the height of the turbine FROM THE DWELLING (not the property line). This model is based off of a 600 foot tall turbine at a distance of 1200 feet. Did you notice the shadows hitting the house, yard and barn?
Thank you to all the people along the parade route that showed their support of our cause! We appreciate you - keep up the fight and stay strong!!
