Beautiful truck! I own a new Colorado Z71, within the next couple weeks I would like to put the readylift kit plus rims and 33" tires. Nothing comparable to the Tundra... but I'm in the same boat with the Readylift. I've found a few great reviews about the kit. But the majority of the reviews are people that I don't believe have ever had any experience with the Readylift. They immediately say upgrade to a full suspension lift the spacer kits are junk. A few say they hear noises, some say it has a bad CV angle, one person even said they cracked a shock. I'm just lifting for appearance and so I can fit larger tires, I don't need a complete off road package.

Thanks Rick!...yea I’ve heard so many people say these spacer kits are junk, and I honestly wonder if most of them have ever even owned one...haha...I have zero complaints, and it’s been over a year now!...good luck with the truck, thanks for watching!

Love your truck. I'm considering a new Tundra, but because of the shark-fin antenna, a few inches of lift may not allow me to pull into my garage I hate to put you to work, but if you happen to have an accurate overall height (I used a level at top of shark-fin) of truck, I would be grateful. I would love to somewhat copy your truck, but my garage opening is 80.5 inches tall. Great videos.Keep it up. Very informative.

Hey Sarabeth!...ok, so I measured my garage opening in 3 different spots to make sure it’s accurate, and my opening is 81 inches from top to bottom...I have approx 3-5 inches of clearance with my setup (4/2 ReadyLift SST sittin on 20x9 +12 wrapped in 35x12.5’s), so that should give ya a good idea of what you’re working with...let me know if I can help with anything else!

How about a newer update? Did you have to change any gearing when adding 35" tires? If not, also with towing a boat, are there any problems with the truck trying to find gears while shifting with bigger tires and/or towing a boat? I'm wanting to upgrade to 20" rims and 33's or 35's, but I am being told I should consider retuning or regearing the truck. Not really looking to start messing with the long term reliability of the engine.

I’ve actually been thinking about doing an updated version of this video… I did not re-gear myself, anything over 35 inch tires I definitely would but you don’t have to at this size… No issues at all when towing the boat, she pulls the boat like it’s not even there and no problems searching for gears!…hope that helps!

New to the channel. Getting ready to trade my Tacoma for a Tundra. The Tacoma won’t haul my new travel trailer, so it is time to trade up. Your videos are very well done - great info. I was told a cold air intake could void the warranty - have you heard that?
@NitroZ18Fishing

Thank you, I appreciate that!...and welcome to the channel!...aftermarket parts can’t void warranties unless they cause a problem that Toyota can prove were caused by them...I’ve verified that with my local dealer, they would have to prove that the CAI caused an issue to void the warranty...hope that helps!

Beautiful truck! I have some questions for you, 1.does the front sit up higher than the back? If so how much? 2. When you tow does the back sag a lot? (Before airbags) 3.do the airbags help with leveling once you’re towing your boats. Sorry for all that, I’ve been looking for a setup like that with the Firestone airbags, thank you!
@NitroZ18Fishing
3 жыл бұрын
Thanks man, I appreciate it!…yea no prob, happy to help 1. Front and rear are almost perfectly level, if I remember correctly it was approx 1/2” off after installing kit (rear 1/2” higher) 2. Back would squat some if I’m loaded down (boat, and bed loaded up)…squat was minimal with just boat but it did drop slightly 3. Airbags are a HUGE help…even with the boat hooked up and bed stuffed (family trips), the bags will bring the back end right back up and level…they’re honestly one of the mods I’ve done that I will never go without on future trucks Hope all that helps!

No regrets at all, I love it...to me the 4/2 is an awesome stance on our Tundras, especially sittin on 35’s...if you don’t plan on doing much off roading, this kit is well worth it!...ride is very comparable to stock, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again... thanks for watching!

@@NitroZ18Fishing Thanks for the response. By chance do you have any photos that depict the CV angles up front? I am curious to know if those CV joints end up angled much...Years ago, I did a no-budget portion bar lift on an '88 Toyota, and as a result, the CV boots rubbed themselves thin until grease puked out all over the place.

@NitroZ18Fishing

Yea absolutely...just imagine off roading with your stock set up, it’s possible but not ideal by any means...the ride is extremely similar to stock, you could do it, but for people who off road a lot it’s probably a better idea to go with some coil overs for a smoother ride...hope that makes sense!
