Moral of the story - a real artist has the skill and technique to work in any style asked of him, yet also possesses a strong vision of his own. What an inspiring video.

It’s amazing to hear these artists talk about all of the fundamentals we all still learn. Like of course, they’re fundamentals. But hearing these masters talk about “blocking in” and silhouette, and the one who didn’t want too much details. This is a great showing of entirely different styles and like every style out there from low detail to high :)

I've learned in this 15 minute video more then my 12 years of art classes in school ever taught me. The only thing school ever taught me was that I suck, without ever explaining to me how to paint or draw.

Walt Perigoy was a real fun personality! I worked with him at Marvel productions. He had such great stories... he’s such a Legend. God Bless Walt.

I definitely recognize Eyvand Earle and Mark Davis' styles in their paintings of the tree. However, their individual styles also come into the film, and it makes the film better because of their individual contributions.

Any one of these artists could have drawn a photorealistic tree if they wished. What makes them excel is that they have a proper artistic foundation

Great paintings and it's wonderful to see them unfold.. I realise it's a time capsule of how we were but the misogyny still irks me as a female painter. How many females were denied opportunities to create and contribute at that time. It's all men, men, men... sigh.
