Uffff Sharin. You are just pyaar! I read a book called 'Grief is a Thing With Feathers' which is a reallyyyy weird book but there were parts of it that really stood out to me. One of the quotes that I'd leave you with is this: "Moving on, as a concept, is for stupid people, because any sensible person knows grief is a long-term project. I refuse to rush. The pain that is thrust upon us let no man slow or speed or fix." This just fully spoke of the thing that I know unfortunately too well - that grief is a long term project. There will be days where you will be better, but then there will be days where you'll feel crushed again. And that's fine. Feel the feels. Just know you'll be okay one day and the things that right now are causing you sadness will bring a smile to your face. It'll happen. Anyway, much love!

You guys have to be the best booktubers on this platform, no nonsense, no drama. For me it is your channel that got me through this year. It was my best discovery of 2020. Keep what you are doing guys, you may not realise it but you are friends of many you don't even know the name of and are changing lives (I know, bohot cheesy hai ye message but I hope you read this) Regards, A stupid guy who thinks writing regards is necessary when you can clearly see his name

I read A BRIEF HISTORY OF NEARLY EVERYHTING BY BILL BRYSON at a time in my life when I was particularly struck with the aforesaid emotions. The book helped me immensely by putting into perspective, the fact, that I am very trivial in the grand scheme of how things have been (and how they will be). I hope this helps, kind strangers.

Books set in the World war 2 times have been helping me a lot. 1) Letters to the lost by Iona Grey 2) The last bookshop in London by Madeline Martin 3) The Paris Library by Janet Skeslien Charles Books set in this time are making me feel that this would pass on. It's giving me hope. If they could survive air raids, losing loved ones in war and rationing we could survive this.

I’ve been thinking this as well. What happened during WWII - the people who lived through it knew then what they know now - what would they have done differently ?

@@sharinbhatti1920 In that case, do you think they would have avoided the war all together or is it too big to avoid?! Whatever the change, I feel they would have cherished their time together more. But one thing is common in most WW2 books I read (I am probably picking such books), they all turned to books for solace. In the "The last bookshop of London", I came across a phrase 'drawing strength from the protagonist of the book' and I could relate with this perspective. Be it fiction or non fiction, we definitely draw a little bit of strength from the protagonists we read.

Do not say we have nothing by Madeline Thien is a book about love and loss...I think the most beautiful part of it is how even when people die their stories live on in us. Love it...would tattoo every page on my body if I could.

It is indeed a wave of so much we are navigating and combing through. Thanks for all the reccos in here... There are three in here I find myself espec curious about and drawn to. Speaking of myself, I felt called to pick up my Harry Potter books, a few weeks ago, after a pause. The last I read the books was in 2017. Been going through the books at a voracious speed... And the details are yet startlingly clear in terms of my taking in every minute mention. I feel like there is much I missed over the years even though I have read these books many times and so often. In some ways, the books kinda allude to similar things I feel are happening in the world right now. So from a personal point of view, I do not feel carried away into a fictional world rather like it serves as a lens into what surrounds me, even as I regard it as a means of comfort. & I feel delighted I am able to return to it after what feels like a v long time. The relating is doubly helpful. May you and your loved ones come out on the other side of this pandemic, unscathed. We have lost so many and so much. May we also hold on to whatever keeps us feeling safe and spiritually supported at this time. Take care of yourself!

Hey! Can you please suggest some books originally written in Bodo language, but translated to English? I am trying to read more books from regional Indian languages.
