Have you tried talking to councils about the branches? I'm in Australia, so perch branches aren't a problem here as there's gum trees everywhere & big branches get dumped in bushy areas at the ends of streets all over the place, but I've also had times when I've seen council workers pruning trees & asked them if I can grab a branch for birds & had them cut them to size for me on the spot & everything. I would imagine if you called the council in the area where that white berch is, they'd likely be willing to help you out with telling you when it's next scheduled for maintenence so you could go & collect branches they need to remove, or more than that, they can likely tell you where others are, you could maybe even have them call you when they get a call from someone reporting a fallen branch they need to go out & cut up & remove. I would say to ask them if you can go to where they take all their tree waste to, but normally they mulch everything, so that likely won't be helpful. If you're willing to go to where they are, when they're there though (ie no inconvenience to them), they should be willing to help you out :)

yeh I'm LOVING this idea too! I've been trying to make bases for the branches I have & they're all wobbly & so heavy too & take up lots of floor space to make stable enough, which is annoying when not in use & in a small place, so this lighting stand idea is awesome & one I will DEFINITELY be using! Best tip ever!

I've made a pretty good DIY tree branch stand for my amazons. I bought 4 relatively broad wooden planks and used metal 90 degree angels to screw them together like a tall box. Then I placed this on a big squared wooden plate and used more metal angels to secure it. Now I can get very big tree branches from the forest and simply put them into the stand like flowers into a vase

12:48 My Goffin's cockatoo loves the foraging toy I purchased from the same people who make the metal busy barrel toy. The one I got him is called "the goodie gadget." Dumb name. Great toy. It looks like a giant bullet with a cap that you unscrew to put in the treats. It spins around, and it has a slit on each side of the bottom of the "bullet" where a bird has to get the treat out of. Sometimes he'll even play with that toy without treats in it. I'm looking forward to getting him the busy barrel toy next (the bullet toy is too easy for him now even though he loves it).

U can use metal wires like 5mm thick and then use stainless steel to make it a frame. Then you can get some round shapes drill them into the stainless steel then put bowls in them. Then you probably wanna put weels on so it can roll around when you push it .the wheels must not me to tight also not to loose so that the bird can push it.Then u can when you have the wheels on you can take a saw or something else to cut a hole so that it has room to put a thing you slide in and out that catches their poop and food they drop. Then you also can put plastic around the food and water bowl so that it doesnt waste on the floor.Hope you use this idea it worked perfect for me

The cardboard idea is something i do to but then with my animals. I dont have birds would love to have one one day but for now its rabbits guinypigs hamsters and a shihtzu. But the cardboard also fits them as a toy. The hamsters run through them and destroy them. The guinypigs and rabbits need to hussle their hay out of them. And my shihtzu loves desyroying toilet paper rolls and finding a treat in a cardbord egg box. I see it as a nice way of upcycling cardboard.

@@MikeyTheMacaw That´s what we looking for. One of our Hyacinth Macaws don´t like normal aviators with a head loop. It´s unable to put him out when he open his big beak. So we´re looking for an alternative. Do You have a source for us? Thank You and good luck with Your really friendly blue & golds. Greetings from Germany Torsten
