Hello, so I just quit my 9-5 almost a month ago. I went to door dash the same day I quit and from that mon-sun I made $1189. I’ve learned what stores take 80 years and what areas not to go to. I just stared using the decline option about 5 days ago and I’ve seen some difference orders coming up. I made $1301 for last week. That’s more than I’ve made getting paid every 2 weeks smh

Even though i was pretty hesitant i’ve found “Earn by Time” to be a pretty stress free way to dash and I make nearly the same money. I use my motorcycle and this has increased my acceptance rate way up and I qualified for the Top Dasher program last month (taking more orders) even though I do this on the side. I don’t even care much about the no tip orders or long wait times at restaurants in this mode since I make nearly the same. It ends up being a mix of all types of orders.

I love your video's brother! Always "like" but this is my 1st time commenting. I am in a very good area in South Florida. I am not a negative person. 27 yrs in finance I never wanted to hear " I can't hit my goal & all the excuses that go with it". But something has been going on. I believe it's multiple things DD is doing. Anyone who has read there Financials would know changes are coming. And it's not a knock I am VERY GRATEFUL & APPRECIATED of DD for being able to do this while I get better but the days of $150 -$200 a day, even $100 are going to be fewer & fewer, require longer shifts & get lucky with a couple way above avg tips. I hope I am wrong & not for me long term but for others that do this fo a living. There are too many issues with both thr business model & customers. Everytime I go online I see another article about people are tired of the "tipping culture ". Shit 25 yrs ago I tipped the pizza guy $5 now it's a problem. And i know that is a "4" letter word will "3" but these companies are just as tip reliant as the drivers. Higher the tip, less they have to pay the driver. And its not like the pay is that high now, if I had to guess 80%+ (not counting shopping orders) are $3 or less. I go back and average weeks all the time. Doesn't matter if I made $950 or $500 at the end of the week I typically avg $3.02 per order base & that includes peak and shopping. Tips is the difference between a $700 week or $500 week. Until January I kept a 70%+ acceptance, until April 50%+ now I cant get to 40%. Not cause I cherry pick, I take 1, 2, 3 orders for "the team". I am not looking for home runs just I know what I need to make per mile and those orders are getting harder & harder to come by. Maybe it's not for you and I hope it isn't but they are changing things around internally a lot. Until 3 months ago I knew Friday, Saturday & Sunday (Mondays during football) I could work 5 to 9 and make $80 to $100. Now I have 3 Fridays & 2 Saturdays in last 2 months I worked 4 to 9 and made $50 or less. Anyway sorry for the long message, I totally got carried away. I guess I let everything out in this message that I been thinking about. I wish I had a 100% acceptance, its becoming gambling and if I want to do that I go to the Hardrock. And I think DoorDash has a amazing idea and the owner read a lot about him I don't want to be negative about either but feels like they want to drivers that have done 3,4, 5 thousand dashes gone & rotate through new drivers that haven't figured out you can't take every order and u have to make X amt per mile. I don't give a shit, will maybe a little but very little about hourly. Dollars & cents, does it make sense to drive 8 miles 1 way so potentially 16+ miles for $3,$4 $5, $6 dollars. No. You will not make money. Ok sorry. Keep up the great great work!! 👍

If i can add to point 1, one of your own tips from long time ago but a bit expanded: We Don't Follow Maps. Especially in larger parking lots and Suburbs Google Maps loves to give very bad routes while its still working out which way you are facing. Most the time Google or Wayz knows what they are doing but a bit of extra common sense, and making it practice to look if its trying to do something ridiculous before you set off when a easier option is there goes a long way when tired, distracted, or as a nervous newer driver.

No, without top dasher you just schedule ahead in the app, usually a day before, although if area is high traffic you may need to check in on app and be quick when slots come up. If you wanted you could schedule ahead in one zone within pretty decent radius to another later in the day. Also if you are just starting you get Top Dasher for first week or so by default which gives you Dash Now for any zone that could use a bit of drivers (red zones.)

The thing about doordashing is that its never the same, one day you could be getting good orders back to back, on most days youll be lucky to get them, and if you do, the driving miles are crazy im in the fl area and its hard af to even make $100 even if you spend all day dashing, most orders are crap orders, usually less than $9. Even the stacked orders be 2 cheap orders together, youll find yourself putting most of what you make back into the car for gas and repairs, so its basicly like youre working for free, most wages depends on tips which most people don't do, and doordash doesn't even have a base hourly pay. It all comes to area and the amount of drivers, im to the point of considering not dashing anymore because its seems like it really aint worth it, they make it sound good cause you're your own boss and you have the ability for a flexible schedule

Completely depends where you are imo. Definitely is for me but i know many veteran drivers who just schedule ahead so they can stay choosier and not sweat about AR, which if its really busy area sometimes can work out. In my area with Diamond Zone the app slows down too much if i drop AR%, so since AR is usually at or near what is required for Top Dasher i just end up with it anyways. I tried being choosy but found instead of seeing and declining too much mediocre or very poor offers it was better to just drive to locations where the orders i was getting were consistently worth my time. Not a option for everyone but if you live in big enough area can definitely be better to exchange being picky about orders with being picky about where you dash, alternatively do hourly if pay for it looks good every once in awhile.
