I'm always looking forward to Chef John's cooking. Definitely a pleasure to see him share the culture. He inspired me lately to start cooking and doing more research in Chinese Cuisine for sure. Although I'm not Chinese, I want to fully learn and respect the origins and taste of the original dishes made.

Wow love to see this going to buy all these ingredients and make them. Love seeing that I can do more with 🐔 than just making homemade American chicken 🍲 to feel better during the winter months. The tea 🫖 that looks good.

When stewing the 4 herbs with Hog maw (stomach of a pig), it can warmly invigorate spleen and stomach. You may substitute with pork ribs.

Chef, if you're going to slow motion every single clip just to drag on the show, viewer is going to loose patient, we follow you because of your wonderful cooking and recipe, please do not spoil it with some unnecessary so call "artistic" visual stunt. Nevertheless, still like your recipe.
I wish it is easy as it was show to cut the squash …my cut will definitely not be even like that.

Can you suggest a replacement for ginseng root. Given the cost of this product...what was put in the pot was worth 10 to 15 dollars. While this vid was lovingly filmed, I prefer watching you cook...knife work, timing, handling, ingredient prep etc. I don't think I am alone in saying many hundreds of thousands got a lot out of that kind of content.
