I grew up on the water and heard about it my whole lifetime. Seen it many times but the camera really captures the moment especially at this zoom level. Its only a small camera that fits in the palm of your hand. Sony HX80 with a Zeiss 24-720 mm F3.5-6.4 30x zoom lens.

Apparently, if you still have your eclipse glasses, certified eclipse glasses, you’re able to see the sunspots on the sun. I’m gonna try it today.

I've neve heard that saying though I seem to remember something from Pirates of the carribean referencing it. There is an an old Scottish legend that says anyone who sees the green flash just once will be incapable of being deceived in matters of the heart.

Hate to bust your chops but this chromatic aberration is a common problem with camera lens.

For years it was thought to be a retinal after-image, until somebody successfully photographed it. I've seen it unaided.

I like to pride myself on doing nothing to any image I take. I have seen this with the nakedeye using an averted vision tecnique learned from telescopic astronomy. You don't look directly at the sun until the very last moment to avoid an image the sun leaves behind on your retina when looking at it. The camera captures it easily when the mirage effect takes place, but it may also be caused by an inversion
