"As always...." d1+2 whiffs on oki and f2 that is not guaranteed afterwards :D
@coachkazama8434

Can you elaborate? d+1+2 is a great oki tool. If the attack whiffs on oki, then your movement is improper.
@diyourka2221

@@coachkazama8434 It's super-duper linear though. It is good on opponent's back standing but you should be aware on ukemis (basically oki after wall ender), since d1+2 whiffs without proper realignment (same with db1+2). Also ofc it is weak to sidesteps if opponent guesses the timing, else you can just realign on his SS/SW into grab or whatever; or use homings (but Asukas close-range homings are felt a bit slow). So basically it is better to keep tension after wall-combo instead of instantly trying to oki; why I personally prefer 2,1,d1+2 instead of 1+4,2,4 - mostly opponents do not stand backward instantly allowing to hit with db3 that puts them into [FU/FA] that limits wake-up options and gives some comfortable oki. About f2 not always hitting after successful d1+2 (in Dragunov/Shaheen/Bears matchups and mb in some other scenarios idk) you probably already know ig, and if I'm not mistaken now we can use ff df3 instead (mb it's just my problem but my fff2 is so unstable). Overall, I just came up with phrase for the end of video that cut-off)

@@diyourka2221 You may be missing some key pieces about oki fundamentals. Essentially you would never use d+1+2 immediately after a wall ender without a re-align. Fundamentally speaking, after a move like 1+4, 2, 4 is successful at the wall using an attack like d+1+2 is extremely useful as you can step left or right to track the ukemi and connect every time. If a sequence where d+1+2 is whiffing after a wall ender that means your execution needs work. This is a common mistake I see in some of my newer students, take a look at my "Everything You Need To Know About Wall Pressure" video and I cover this exact concept.
@coachkazama8434

@@diyourka2221 and about f+2 whiffing after d+1+2 is also a common problem. What is happening is if d+1+2 connects at tip range, your f+2 will whiff. Which is why it’s best be as close as humanly possible before pressing d+1+2. With more experience you will find that you can identify when your f+2 will not reach due to range, and pressure an oki option right away instead of wasting time with the f+2 follow up. Check out my video "Tips to CRUSH the ranked ladder" and skip to 8:06 where this concept is applied. A situation where f+2 follow up is not possible, it’s identified quickly, and a direct oki option is executed.
